Wallet took an additional beating today.

Picked up a Black Wolf on Thursday, very very impressed however it seemed to shoot a little naff at 40ish meters, decided to chrono it today and 9.5 ft/lbs... (used 3 separate chronos to make sure wasn't the chrono)

Back to the shop for them to have a look at, who after a few mins of poking around it suggested they just give me another one which was absolutely perfect until we realised there wasn't another one in stock (Apart from a tac version at an additional £1000) and they're an approx 6 week wait from Daystate.

Decided to pay the extra and get a Red Wolf which was available on the spot. (didn't quite have it in me belt for the tac version)

Frustrating the Black Wolf didn't work out it seemed a really nice rifle on first impressions and still shot really impressively at 25m. Did ask the shop about fixing the rifle but after looking it over a replacement was recommended unless I was happy to have it sent to Daystate and be without it for however many weeks, which I didn't want to do. Also didn't want to wait the time it took for a new one of the same to arrive.
  1. Shoots a nice 797fps avg with JSB Exact 8.44's
  2. Shoots sub 5p size groups at 25m and 5p size groups at 45m (indoors)
  3. Doesn't seem pellet fussy, only doesn't like H&M FTT's so far
Accessories Recommendations Welcome! No idea what I can dress this up with

You asked for accessory ideas - I've ordered the PRS single shot loader and the carbon Daystate Airstream Reflex Mk 6 moderator.

Like you, I ordered a Black Wolf but the store in Rayleigh had none so I opted for a red Red Wolf to come next weekend.

Same store I got mine from lol, I snagged their last carbon grey cylinder one. Moderator looks nice, I've just got myself a Huggett but that looks good, especially matching the shroud

My Red Wolf was taken from stock and checked on Saturday morning, so we might have neighbouring serial numbers!

I was about to get the Huggett for lightness, but the carbon Airstream is 20% lighter still, despite being longer.

As a beginner, I assume, all things being equal, longer is generally more effective for quietness.

Whey!

Prior to getting the Huggett I've only had a 0db Moderator (which is very quiet), the huggett is noticeably quieter and is also probably 50mm longer.

I don't think length in of itself is the deciding factor but the design and overall size. Dad had a rifle with a DonnyFL mod which was short but quite chunky and that's about as quiet as the Huggett Snipe is.

You done the right thing, the RW is just a better gun all round unless your desperate to avoid electronics (y)
Not fussed about the electronics, gun has a life-time warranty so very unlikely they'll be my problem should they go wrong. Also saw the the Red Wolf has been about for years so not about to question its reliability. big fan of the trigger.

I did briefly have a Delta Wolf and wasn't a fan at all but wasn't the electronics that put me off directly

The RW definitely feels a cut above Delta Wolf and Black Wolf from experience.
