We have one of these,.22 things as a club gun.
Its so popular, loads of people enjoy taking it out with a couple of boxes of ammo, and back they come 10 minutes later with a big sh**eating grin and an rmpty dpace in their wallet.
But good grief I have never known such a needy gun, it stovepipes like mad if you dont clean it at least every 300 rnds, its made of monkey metal, bits drop off it and break with monotonous regularity and its difficult getting the bits that do break.
The cocking handle snapped lastweek and the week before the foresight blade disappeared.
Good job I have a decent stock of dcrapper guns which can donate parts for me to adapt to fit the gsg but one day it will go to the great armoury in the sky.

Yeah they've got to be classed as almost single use, if not a 5yr disposable rimfire.
They're not at all built for longevity, none of the GSG family are really so I wouldnt pay too much or get too attached to it.

Utter junk, they were when they first came out years ago and im amazed any are still workout there.

I think it was given to the club, maybe the giver was pleased to see it gone lol

If u bin it and get a Grand Power TR22, it will be just as popular as its a forward cocking, non reciprocating semi PCC just like the MP5 and is a very similar layout.
It wont fall apart and will give 1000s of rounds of enjoyable ammo using.
Yes you could probably buy several GSGs for the price if one, but how much is your time and the time of whoever is supervising the members worth?

Clearly I am obviously a fan of them (and yes own one) but it won me over by it’s simplicity and effectiveness. With a layout/handling similar to the HK & B&T mine is always a popular talking point whenever it comes out.

The other one (although Ive not yet shot one) is the CZ Skorpion. 😁

Superb pieces of kit, now if they do a roller locked .22WMR version, I would be banging their door down with cash in my hands!

I dont know about roller locked but Oto is doing me Gen 1 16” .22WMR uisng a slightly modded .22lr BCG and CNC lower using Kel-Tec mags. Eventually.
He has done a 3D printed lower to check layouts using an AR grip and drop in trigger.
AFAIK he now has the CAD model to do the lower but its on his list TBD on his new CNC machine.
If you contact him and let him know you are interested in it then it may bump the project up the list of jobs TBD. ?

A guy I shot clays with had an MP5 copy, not sure if it was GSG or not but he regretted buying it and got rid asap. I was thinking about a GSG 1911 LBP about 8-9 years ago but kept hearing about their poor quality and got a K22 instead.

A wise choice 😁
