I know this has probably been covered lots of times, but as it approaches is the shooting show worth a visit, I’m not interested in shot guns, just air arms, like most on here I like looking at knives, flasks and the like, can you hold the air rifles and shoulder them what are on show? Im a bit conflicted on one hand 9 o’clock start for me is great and don’t mind going home at 11 o’clock, if I’ve covered all that I want to see but £100 nearly for 3 tickets and £40 fuel is still a tidy sum, I go the bike show every couple of years stay for 2-3hrs see what interests me and say driving home I’m not going again it’s a rip off,💁 is it one of them if you only go once and see for yourself and tick it off the list. I’ve just got in to the air rifles recently to add.

I'm pondering the same thing being a similar situation to you. Thinking I might just be better off traveling to a number of large dealer to check out the latest air rifles.

I've been to the bike show at the nec also, I find more joy visiting bike dealers now, though they are falling like flies in south Wales.

Think I’ll go tbh, even if I’m driving home thinking well that was a rip off haha, I quite like looking at bits and bobs that I’m hoping will be there, I.e hats and flasks and multi tools, amazing how your likes change as you get older.

Every year more and more air related stuff is there and last year there was plenty of stands not only the big manufactures but lots of the smaller shops as well, you can handle and purchase most of the stuff and there is some good deals to be had👍 it's not a cheap day out but you do get to see it all in one place on the day, you can have a shoot of most of the air stuff but they do charge a fee for so many shots.

Friend travelled from Cornwall to Birmingham this year, thinking he might be able to view target jackets and try them. Nope, not there, came home empty handed. A lot of hype, little of substance he said.

Ive been to everyone it's a day out for me but i live within a train ride but i make a day of it take my own food drink like to check out guns and equipment i be thinking of purchasing and where else can you do that under one not always a bargain to be had but that's life.

I went this year, as I had a couple of rifle purchases in mind, but wanted to have a close look at all the options for a new compact rifle. For that it was absolutely perfect as there is no other place than a show where everything is there to look at and shoulder etc. Came away knowing exactly what I wanted to save up for.

@jeffsky was there working on the Crawley surplus stand. Came over and gave my daughter a lollipop because I was chatting to his dad for a while and she got bored bless her. She did actually ask to come with me, I didn't drag her there against her will 🤣

You can see, and handle, guns from most of the makers. You can also shoot some on the special ranges set up for rifle and pistol. There will be some traders selling new and used, there may be the odd bargain nut don't depend on that. Most bargains will be on stuff that is old stock etc and there's usually some good deals on shooting clothing.
You can also see looads of scopes and other stuff, much of which you won't see at your local dealer and can't afford anyway. Usually plenty of night vision and thermal stuff as well. Just remember it's a shooting show not a market.

Its alongway from northern England for me, I wont be going. There may be one in Yorkshire hopefully!

Will probably go with the Mrs..... Be nice to treat her on Valentines Day....
Same. Getting points for a night away and a Valentines dinner, then dragging her around the shooting show.
Seriously though, I’m also looking for clothing as well as knives, guns, tools etc
Previous visits won good quality gear at decent price.

That's been changed recently then
Yes, one year I think the parking was an additional £16 or so on top of the entry fee. I think they learnt their lesson after than one and probably increased the entry price while offering fee parking!

Only been once and i thought it was a good day out apart from the extortionate food prices.
I went looking for my AA S510 Tactical and had a go with one on the shooting range they had set up there and bought one at a very good price considering it had just been released..
And also got a £50 goodie bag from AA
