Made the mistake of working overtime one year when the company I worked for was doing a job in Liverpool.

I wondered why nobody was grabbing it, so I thought why not, knew the job was a doddle and could make a few quid and be back home for dinner.

Totally neglected that it was Grand National day. Never even registered in my head, my home for dinner turned into getting home about 6pm, the place was carnage, gridlocked everywhere, the job itself took me about an hour and a half, but getting in and out of Liverpool was a disaster.
