That’s the planLovely striping on that, looks good as is but get a few coats of oil on that and it will really pop

I have always just used multiple coats of boiled linseed oil, everyone will have their own answer in regards to stock oils etc and I'm sure some of the dedicated stock ones are good but in my opinion they aren't necessary, and like you I don't like too much of a shiny or vanished finishThat’s the planany recommendations on a decent oil? I’m not keen on a varnished look, more of a Matt finish is what I like

I agree, I’m hoping the ‘scaling’ looks a little better after some oil. Second bit of walnut I’ve bought recently that seems far too dry! Lovely stripes on it thoughThat is lovely. I do however wish they would do away with the 'fish scaling' for a more traditional stippling.
