Gluing a Stock

That looks like a two stage glue. When you compress the forend, does the wood match perfectly face-face? If yes, Titebond 3.

If there are gaps, I would use epoxy but that can get fairly involved and tricky.

Yep that will glue up well. I'd suggest you clean the joint with Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) or similar for belt and braces especially the wedge if you've handled it.

If you're hoping to diguise the glue joint you can rub fine abrasive over the join while the glue is still tacky but that would mean some refinishing of the stock, otherwise just wipe off excess when you clamp and scrape any excess off when dry.
You can also disguise it with a very fine brush or toothpick later applying appropriate stain, needs a steady hand tho.

I think so, I just quickly put it together for a photo last night

Edit: yes just been playing with it and no gaps

You may still need a tiny bit of wood filler if you really wanted to blend it in but like you said the barrel will sit on top of it. As long as the strength is there that is the main thing. Good job and can't wait to see it finished rubbed and oiled.

I did 3 or 4 dry runs, put clamps in same place each time then wasn’t until @Andy from Sandy mentioned it looked a tad shite I spotted it 😂

Just need to let it set now
You got there in the end and there is always someone on here that will help you out. Keep us posted and send us some pics when its finished. Hats off to you for the progress.
