Guys i'm having an issue with my ghost lately and wondering if i can get some advice.

Out of 10 shots lately 2-3 sound much lower velocity, almost like a missfire, and the pellet misses low. This sometimes results in a blocked barrel. After clearing it fires fine again for a few shots, then the same again. Sometimes dry firing sounds the same.

Fill pressure 230 bar, reg pressure 100 bar and i'm using the same baracuda 8's ive always used.

Any ideas?. A pal of mine suggested the breech seal, but i assumed it would be a constant fault if the seal had gone.

Could pellet debris cause this?. I'm wondering if a full strip down might highlight something.

Is the regulator showing constant pressure or is it dropping/increasing with each poor shot?

If regulator is OK, I would be thinking the hammer assembly.
It uses some sort of sling shot system which may be sticking.
There is a strip down guide on the Brocock website.

I would guess debris in the action. Try dropping the cassette and see if there’s anything lurking in there.

As said before, look on the Brocock website for vids or sub12airgunners on YouTube. I’m no expert but (having had and resolved a few issues in my used one) would like to think I could strip a Ghost 👻 to components and rebuild fully, so feel free to drop me a DM.

Good shout
Strip and clean it . You'll spot any thing untoward and at least eliminate the question of debris in the guts. |if there is something floating about inside , happy days .

We assume that the gun did shoot ok until now ?
Do you have any way od checking whether the reg is cycling properly ?

Cheers for the advice guys.

I'm going to familiarise myself with the strip down procedure and have some breech seals on the way also.

I'll report back my findings

It did happen once a couple of months back, but i put it down to me not fully closing the cocking lever.

Much appreciated bud

As above, check the rear of the block. The cassette is dead easy to drop out and check for debris. Failing that, I’d be checking the firing valve. I have heard about some sticking, so a quick strip down, clean and lube couldn’t hurt.

If you are looking for Jeff’s/Jakes strip down video make sure to search the brocock YouTube channel as they did a video on there rather than their own one.

sounds a lot healthier after removing this lot!. Will give it a good try this weekend but thanks for the advice guys 👍

That's at least 3 crunched pellets yeh. Any tips for stopping that happening again guys?

Don’t tip the gun backwards with pellets loaded in the magazine for one.
Get a single shot loader with a pellet retention o-ring is what I did, this didn’t happen again.

Are the pellet bits from the pellets being too tight in the mag and what single loader make would you use

I used the PRS ssl myself.
What happens is if you tip the gun backwards a pellet can fall out of the magazine, it drops into the action and gets either smashed to bits when cocking the gun or sits inside the block causing all sorts of mischief.
