fx poi shifts .

My maverick FAC at the moment seems very good, but I have had some poi shifts . What size are the barrel o rings ? How many do FX install? I think it's 3 . Would it be worth fitting a couple more ? Just as a fettling measure. Haven't spent any serious time on it due to other commitments and the
⛈️🌦️🌩️🌪️ing weather.
Worked for my Crown ,that had 3 o rings ,i have tested various amounts in different positions ,and tuned it for the the lighter faster express 7.9 ,that i wanted to use but wouldn’t group as good as the 10.9 heavy JSB ‘s in .177 sub 12ft !
So i found that a stack of 10 works together ,approx 3/4 way down/along the barrel ,no scientific equipment was used lol, just a lot of fiddling with different options !
So it groups laser like now with the express, and the heavy not so good !
Hope that helps !

Can I ask what stops the orings moving along the liner when putting it together

Can I ask what stops the orings moving along the liner when putting it together
They are a very tight fit on the barrel and i lubricate the outside of the o ring ,i’ve checked after a couple of tins of pellets and they stay put !
You can simply tape the barell at both ends of the stack of o rings to make sure ,but as said not seen them move ,and i have checked on various times 👍👀

the whole liner/ shroud is weak and you can have poi shift just by carrying the gun.
barrel band helps a bit but it can rotate around the cylinder.

solid barrel would be the way to go but increases weight
That can be sorted by spraying the inside of the barrel band with liquid electrical tape. It puts a rubber coating on after it dries and gives you way more grip.

Well who'da ,thunk it ?
That's a new arrow in my bodger's hat . Never heard of it and I are an electrician. allegedly .Screenshot_20240503-153738~2.png

Anyone have any views or experience of tensioner kits? Saw this on YT and thought it looked a bit more professional than FX’s own version. They ship to the UK apparently. https://bulletcentral.com/bc-custom-carbon-fiber-shroud-tensioner-kit-fx-impact-w-fx-clamp-500mm/
I've got FX's own tensioner kit and it doesn't F***G work. Let me know if that does(y)

FX Impact M3 FAC .25cal the one and only gun with a mind of its own:censored:

I admit, I'm a F***G idiot buying directly from SGC and not going through a RFD. Had I gone with my local RFD, I may have either had it sorted by now or my money back. When I bought it in Feb 2023, I was told the warranty was for 12 months only. When they had it back, the clown who dealt with it told me it was a 24 month warranty. Nothing in F***G writing.Head bang 65

I'm gonna stop swearing guys, I promise.
It's just that every time I hear the word IMPACT it reminds me of SGC and makes me wanna swear :censored: 🤣

i no longer have poi shifts,

the cure is to move it on, so someone else can experience fx faults, sorry tinkering.

its been 3 weeks and he has not come back[ 🙏 ] yet

So most of the time my FAC maverick behaves however when I was last out hunting walking and scrambling through woods and whatnot with the rifle on the sling I could hear and feel the barrel twanging and rattling about when the gun moved against my hip putting my hand on the rifle calmed it down however I wound up with a 1" poi shift from my pre hunt zero. Looking at the space between the end of shroud and the frame of the gun the thought was well what did you expect? Being a cheap skate and a top level bodger I did this . Shroud is markedly more rigid and it's put some tension in the barrel initial results seem good. Time will tell . IMG_20240525_164524_144.jpgIMG_20240525_164404_520.jpg

It is vexatious and a known and common issue. This washer seems effective and has noticibly stiffened the front end .

Think of the positives Tony, with the FiX you save on buying targets as you end up shooting someone else’s 😂😂😂

I must have a rare accurate M3 .25 fac, i have banged it climbing gates its fell over a few times and i pick it up by the barrel never moved off zero. The m3 is supposed to be a closer tolerance regarding barrel fit, maybe the larger dia of the .25 cal liner stops any flexing?

I love all the FX rifles they look amazing and are very accurate but all 4 of the ones I've owned have either fell apart or would never hold zero by the time I'd got home a shame really
I've got 4 FX's and I've gotta say, they are lovely looking rifles and I love them even more when they shoot accurately:ROFLMAO:unfortunately, thats not all the time for the FAC ones.

I've got two SUB 12's and two FAC rifles.

  • Crown MK2 .177 - SUB 12 (Had accuracy issues when first purchased but got sorted within a week back in Oct 2021 and never had issues since)
  • Wildcat MK3 .177 - SUB 12 (Never had issues until I started F**G around with but then I sorted it out myself back in Jan 2023. Been great since)
  • Impact MK3 .25 - FAC Been shit since the day I purchased it in Feb 2023 especially using slugs. Still trying to sort it. Looked into new Walther barrel and all that but not happy with write ups so sticking with FX barrel for now. (I've ordered new barrel stiffening kit from HUMA AIR as I dont want to spend any more doe with SGC due to their very poor service. I'll see how that goes when it arrives. Also going to try jamming something between the shroud and the bottle to see if its the vibration causing it to travel in the wrong direction.
  • King .22 - FAC Absolutely in love with it

Please tell me more. Its people like Keithy that keep me hanging on. You 've definately got a one off. I reckon I got the bad batch back in early 2023. Although it did go back to SGC for 27 weeks:mad:(n) and they claimed they replaced both my 700mm barrels (standard and sniper) I dont think they did. I think they were lying to me. In fact I know due to all the black electrical tape found between the barrel and the liner. YES! I did take it apart again when getting it back after 27 weeks because it was still shooting badly and still is now. I have now put on the standard 700mm barrel and just shooting pellets which seems to be sort of satisfactory. I have also fitted the carbon sleeves in both barrel kits.

Keithy, please if you dont mind giving me a breakdown of your barrel kit and how you sustain accuracy.

The only thing they got right in the 27 weeks the kept my gun for was the replacement regs first and second. Their now spot on.

Cant wait to see this rifle sorted. Its got the potential to do so.
