Fx drs

Trying one tonight down my in door range from 25 -75 yards .177

Lots of threads on the DRS.

A 2min search will reveal a number of useful results.

But I can say that I have shot quite a few DRS' now (joys of being a range RO - get to play with everyone else's toys).

And they are just OK. Not super accurate. Not the best construction quality. Not the most consistent gun over the chrono. They are made to a price and if you get a 'good' one out of the box, then it's...fine. Get a bad one - then good luck dealing with SGC.

A fun range toy for some, but not serious enough performance for others. That's just the feedback I get from the owners.

The one I held felt far too light to me, another in a tactical stock felt better, but not for me.

Someone selling two on here for £850 should sound alarm bells for me.

For balance, I really enjoy mine, not superbly well made but good value. It's way more accuate than me, shoots well and has a smooth and (so far) faultless sidelever/mag set up.

Good air economy, nice handling. The rifle can be improved in certain areas, but so can most rifles. I re-stocked mine, because I could, and not from neccessity.

The bad, warranty is with SGC. FX QC is pants. Mags are fiddly and too expensive. You need a pic rail adaptor (£80!). It has that ludicrous barrel system, but the best version of it, in a rigid cylinder.

One of my better rifles, do a search OP, you'll get a better spread of opinion.

I picked a walnut stocked .177 one from new, I can’t fault it to be honest, as mentioned they a ridiculously light even with a Hawke Sidewinder mounted on the top.

I have all that said bought the upgraded picatinny rail as the Standard dovetail was way too short for the scope I’m using. installed a carbon fibre stiffer for the liner all my FX’s get one, and the SHP plenum as I wanted a regulator gauge. (still kept to bang on the pre SHP power level 10.9 once installed no adjustment was required). It also has a Sub12 airgunner hammer spring adjuster and lock

Picked up a SAK suppressor and that the same diameter as the air res and is super quiet.

It s great hunting rifle as you can carry it all day long. It groups really well on paper with GDK pellets out to 40 meters. It’s no bench rest winning rifle but not far off, it being an entry level FX.

The Standard mini mags are not the easiest things to use. you can if the scope is heigh enough use their larger mags. I tend to single shot load so not an issue.

and they come with their own hard case......

I have a 177 synthetic, lovely and light, accurate and a great gun to walk around my property. Down side is I haven’t used it much because of the weather

The drs is such a lovely looking rifle, especially when fitted with a walnut stock.👍
Although the accuracy on mine wasn’t to be expected from out the box. Tried to make better and I eventually machined up a solid barrel.
Am happy with how the drs performs now. 😎

Well just came back from my indoor range after zeroing my mates drs .177 synthetic stock in .

What a lovely gun to handle
Great fit in the shoulder
Quite with short weihrauch mod on
150 or so shots per fill with 10.4 pellets running @ 715 fps with spread of 5 fps over 20 shots
Running it with Zulus on top , zeroed @ 34 yard ,shot out to 63 yard with JTS 10.4 gr & jsb10.3gr

Like I said zeroed in at 34 yards putting pellet virtually on top of each other with one mags worth .

Moved out to 63 yards to check BC , ranged target spot on 63 yards fired another mags worth of JTS and once again virtually pellet on top of pellet plus BC spot on
We did the same again with JSB 10.34 gr running @ 707 fps with a spread of 8 fps over 20 pellets . We had the same results as the JTS with accuracy plus BC spot on again

This gun is really impressive with weight , balance, and certainly accuracy . I always said HW100 is the best off the shelf gun , but this might just be the one to knock it of it’s perch , time will tell !!

I love my DRS it’s my go to gun now, it’s very accurate, nice and light and so nice to shoulder. And I looks lovely in the walnut.
But I’m sure you will hear so many stories of how badly made they are and they leak and shoot like a shotgun but these stories usually start with “my mate down the range” or “ I had a magazine through one last month” so take them with a pinch of salt.
I’m sure mine was made on a different production line the the bad ones 🤨

Got .22 in walnut, probably 2 months ago now. Love it, put 1000 pellets through it and I have no complaints at all and definitely no regrets.
Fitted a Donny moderator to it which makes it very quiet but it didn't need one as it isn't loud anyway.
I use the dovetail to mount my scope and it works fine for me. Magazine is a bit fiddly for my arthritic fat fingers but not an issue.
Love the fact it is light, my other current air rifle is a TX200HC and that weighs a ton, far too heavy for me to want to carry it around, the DRS is nice to carry but why they don't fit a front stud is a mystery.
