Has anybody else had any problems with this previous gun dealer. I ordered a raw TM 1000 in October 2024 and sadly and naïvely paid in full as instructed. Since then I’ve been offered monthly promises that my gun would be ready for collection within weeks. Any enquiries would cause a response telling me that the actions were not yet in the country, or being tuned or the stocks were not yet ready. After alarm bells rang I instructed gov.co.uk to implement a civil action in order to have my £2300 returned against the business. Again naïvely I received a response that the difficulties with the supplier were now resolved and my gun was now paid for and ready for release. Stupidly this response was believed and after seeing an email from the supplier/importer that a resolution have been achieved that my gun would we now ready for dispatch. Then followed a number of promises that my dream gun would be ready for collection prior to Christmas than the New Year and again in January and February. In March 2026, 18 months after paying in full I no longer received any communications from the owner of the gun shop in North Wales. I have since been told he has moved his business to a rifle range due to complications with the building he previously occupied. Sadly the rifle range is now also closed to members with no update of when it will reopen.

I’m sorry to bother you all with my plight but I hope my stupidity will be a learning process that will help others not lose all their money to an allegedly trusted gun dealer.

If you paid via credit card get in touch with them. They will get your money back under section 75 of the consumer credit act the credit card company is also liable for the purchase as long as it’s over £100 and you paid all or part of the price with a credit card (I’ve added a link below to explain more)

The Consumer Credit Act regulates credit card purchases but also gives you protection when you enter into a loan or hire agreement. It also gives you the right to a cooling off period.

I’ve used this before when in a similar situation with a mobile phone I pre ordered and never got. It took a little while to get sorted but in the end the credit card company refunded me in full. Hope this helps you out a bit.

To be fair the shop owner has been in touch and he had agreed to pay the invoice to allow my TM to be released. I promised him that if my post had caused upset then I will update with any positives. I will keep you updated.

I'm unclear what you believe would be worthy of retraction after handing somebody in excess of £2k eighteen months ago for something you still don't yet have. 🤷‍♂️

A new housing estate project would be completed in that timescale, from land acquisition, PP, construction and handing over to buyers the keys, let alone building a gun.
 
There must have been quite a few of these rifles bought, paid for,and delivered in your lead time,
There are RFDs showing them in stock now,if his account was blocked by the importers this negates the trigger scenario, I would be getting my car out and paying him a call,even if it takes a long day, Good Luck 🤞 mitch21

Mate I am having sleepless nights about this and my physical health is deteriorating as a result. I’m so stupid. I know.

It's turned out to be an error but don't self-corrode, you haven't done anything wrong. It's hard not to beat yourself up over other people's sins sometimes but it's Easter, leave the crucifying to the Son Of Man.
 
PoP don't forget that being an RFD makes his business transactions under scrutiny, he cannot play fast and loose,or he will get his licence pulled,an email to his FAO would put him in a word of pain, Good luck 🤞 mitch21
