HiI found the issues with the short dovetail actions can be sorted by using either Sportsmatch OP12C or ET09C, or the cantilever two piece BKL mounts BKL-274MB or BKL-278MB.
On a standard 300S action, unless a short scope or one with a small objective is used, I tend to find high mounts are better as the allow easier access into the relatively small and centrally cut loading port. This isn't an issue on the Running Boar as the loading port is offset and cut low on the right to compensate for an optical sight being fitted (the RB's having no provision for open sights.
I think one piece mounts introduce their own problems though I agree with BKL's, but they're really too high for the standard comb
I'll have a bit more flexibility, when i get the adjustable cheekpiece done
