Favourite whisky?

got to be fireball cinnamon whiskey
Whisky Pete, whisky, go and wash your mouth out with, er, whisky. (It does sound rather interesting however even if it does have our Scottish friends turning in their graves.)

Its too difficult to pick one favourite whisky, they're all worth a try and some fit my taste at times better than others, but my favourite at the moment is Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition. I'm also partial to The Bheag and everything in between, like Laphroiag and Cardhu Gold. So many whiskies to try.....🥃Slainthe!

One night in the Rosehall in Grantown on Spey a man with blonde in tow looked at the array of Whisky & asked for 2 of the Balvenie, Viv got down the bottle & poured 2 measures, & a bottle of dry ginger added the man, Viv looked at him over his glasses, is that to go in there sir? he asked, yes replied the man, down came the bottle & the 2 measures returned to safety, you are welcome to any of my blended but i am not selling you a good malt to put that muck in. True tale.

I had a healthy dram of my Hammerhead (see #56) just before bedtime last night, what a mistake. Now I’m usually up a couple of time during the night for a wee but last night… must have been every hour! Too much information? Sorry but it’s good to share.

The landlord of The Churchill, in Churchill (!), was a whisky connoisseur, had a wall of whisky and would regularly refuse to sell certain drinks to people who, as he said 'wouldn't appreciate it'

He used to get specials in from time to time, one Christmas I paid a small fortune for a large glass of whisky from a bottle from the SS Politician

I am happy to have drunk it, but sad that I'll never get to taste it again

You bu^^ers are lucky, I have a small collection of good whisky/whiskey that I don't drink. I suffered a traumatic brain injury last year with the luckily only long term result that I have no sense of smell (absolutely nothing) and very restricted sense of taste - sweet, salty, pepper and some other spices. I can get good mouth feel but none of the subtleties of flavour in expensive tipples so just stick to whatever is on offer and hope that my senses will return 🤬

Sounds like permanent COVID! 😭😭
Very dibilitating... I've experienced the symptoms a few times and don't wish it on anyone; specially those who enjoy their food.
I hope for you that you eventually get your taste back!
