I have both…They are very different and both very good optics. I got the T50i for my AA HFT500, shooting off a bench various target distances out to 70m ..great, I thought 50 mag those 70m targets ,I will see the paint flakes……well …sort of. I can only use the scope at 30 mag ish at 70m as any higher the pellet is off the bottom of the reticle. Zero is 30m clarity very good but it appears to be more scope than I need for my purposes. So when it came to a scope for my Ghost I went for theS40i , less mag but not bothered. It’s FFP compared to the T50I . It’s brighter imho than the 50 and I prefer it . I can use the full mag , I like the reticle ….but by eck it’s a lump. You would not want to lug either round the woods but the 40 is a bit of a monster. Shooting off a bench weight it not an issue but you need to look at both if I was going to get another and just doing shooting from a bench I’d get the S40i . If doing 25m bench rest prob T50i. For general mixed shooting I’d get something like Element Helix 6-24X 50 or The Arken EPL4 Ive just got , still good glass with sufficient mag , lighter on the rifle .
