Evert stop sharing my pics without consent and anyone else.

My annoyance with people stealing my work is scaleable, based on what they stand to gain from it

If someone shares my content on a forum etc. as information to help someone else, as expert insight to back their case etc. I don't mind a single bit. Its doing what it was designed to, even if not on my website.

If its plagiarised, or copied and then posted on a competitors website, or a news website/blog where the rest of the page is adverts earning them revenue off their page views without my consent or credit, it really boils my piss.

That's not legal.
I believe it actually is.

While the copyright exists from the point the tangible/intangible "thing" (copy, image, video, etc.) came into existence with and will still "belong" to its creator, by placing it on a forum, you grant the forum the right to post, reproduce, alter and edit it in any way they see fit. Terms for forums are generally generic (and provided by the forum software provider with the forum name/particulars edited in) so as to give it rights very close to but not quite the same level as the original creator.

This doesn't stop the original poster from asking for the content to be removed, but again, the forum doesn't have to.

If someone on (or off) the forum takes it and replicates it elsewhere, you can ask that entity to remove it, since they didn't have permission to reproduce it.

Rabbit Wrecker lost it when a shop was using his pics . Post them online and they will get used . There may be a way to stop it but it will still happen.
He used to be a fairly regular poster on here, whatever happened to him? (Fulsome apology if I'm treading on stony ground here)

He and another member got removed from the forum for comments he made about the forum owner , the Mods and others on the forum . He and another member.

You agreed to the rules and terms when you signed up.
I get that but it's not what I'm getting at.

This only works if the person posting the image actually owns the rights to the image in the first place. If I was to upload a still from a movie the ownership wouldn't automatically move to the forum owner would it.

That's just not how copyright law works.

And if the owner of the media does own said media, under GDPR it can be removed.

Im not sure thats what @Joey is implying either, since what we're discussing here in this thread, is the OP's own content being replicated.

If you posted one of Tillys videos on here and he didnt want it here, he can request for it to be removed, and the forum would have to.

Here you go

Also some good advice already given, watermark your images, only post low resolution images.

Eeew - I thought I'd seen his name on a naughty list somewhere. Quite surprising for such a seemingly popular member of the site.

I edited my post to show the reason they were removed.
It was quite the drama at the time.

It was and some regretted voting after they found out who they had voted for to be removed .
It does not matter who they were , they were doing what they did and the people who voted , said they should be removed so that's what happened .

In your analogy, you would be persued by the movie company for breaking the copyright rules they have by posting on this site.

When you signed up here and many other places, you agreed that all the content you post can be used by the AGF owners for what ever they like. If you didn’t want that to happen then you don’t sign up or post images.

I've seen copyright infringement cases involving products rather than images that have rumbled on for years and m'learned friends have made a small fortune from them.

I'm off out to Miller & Carter for a steak, so the chap can argue with himself...I haven't the energy.

Just being pedantic. He knows full well i mean content owned by a forum member and not something owned by pissing Walt Disney. 🙄
