Eurovision Song Contest

I'm definitely a highly strung deviant! :devilish:
...and also a massive fan of Eurovision!

I love it, ignore the competition aspect as it's all political anyway. Enjoy the escapism.

I work a stressful, intensive job with long hours. To watch a dude prance about in a suit made of post-it's is exactly what I do need at the end of a long day!

My favourite this year is easily Moldova, it has everything a Eurovision song needs:
  • Traditional instruments from that country
  • A drop which crashes into contemporary music
  • Catchy AF

That said, Romania is also excellent, catchy rock song with a bit of operatic vocals to prove she can sing. Watching her for 3 minutes isn't a chore at all!

Please please please keep this thread going tomorrow night!!! I'm going to be sat in a hotel after the Anston shoot watching this and loving every hysterical moment!!!
Who else wasn't suprised that Bulgaria were the first through in the semi finals last night? I mean...bejesus..... as my late Birmingham nan would have said "it twere like two ferrets fighting in a string bag..." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

River Dance and Aqua are the 2 standout intermission acts for me. I’m not sure there’s been any act worth watching since Cliff Richard or Lulu and I could well be misremembering there, age does that to you. 😵‍💫

-1974 the interval act were The Wombles so Mike Batt was handing out 'Remember You're a Womble' badges to all the acts, most of whom put them on; including ABBA. 🤗

For gods sake don't google his performance of 'Congratulations' in 1968....the dance routine...erm.......

This was an excellent winner In the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest. And Is apparently still one of the highest scoring winners In the competitions history👌

I've been a huge Eurovision fan my whole life, I recently found out that Tony Hiller lived two doors down from my old house! (nearly 70 years apart mind)

You can't ignore the irony. There was a thread a short while ago about why we can't get new blood into this sport, and the overiding comment was the small minority of pseudo macho, homophobic racists who seem to represent this community by virtue of being the one (bad) things that people will remember.

Personally I find that comment above extremely offensive. This thread is a fun one, if you want to air your own personal predjudices and pecadillos kindly go elsewhere and start your own thread. Better still, your own forum away from the rest of us here who are happy to take this one day a year for what it is, fairy wings and all.

I couldn't agree more. Seeing that language really put me off visiting ang engaging on on the forum.

Eurovision is LGBT 'adjacent' as most of the songs are flamboyant / camp. This year there are 4 LGBT artists from a pool of 35. Making 11.4%, which is fairly representative of the UK population.

Ditto; I think you just get to an age where you think **** it, I'm going to start calling this out for what it is. 99% of the shooting community are decent people, its that 1% that see this as a safe place that needs to change.

As for Eurovision... its picking up where good old EuroTrash left off!

Unfortunately it has been taken over by the lbgtq lot and now its just a queer fest for deviants.Oh and that Rylans commentary is woeful, another BBC queer.

If anyone else wants to make comments like Alans on this forum you can join him.
