Not seen much about these on here, does anyone have one, or as a collective group, any known issues? Thanks
Hi again, that’s a great review/feedback. I have made my mind up on the Taipan Veteran 2 tactical, going to look at a couple of colour options a week this Monday and providing it feels good in my shoulder I will be coming home with it. As I said before I was sold on the Mora but feedback on various forums put me offI was actually very close to buying the Epic One a while back — it looked really promising on paper, and I liked the features for the price. Did quite a bit of research, and while I didn’t find many major complaints, I saw a few mentions of slight reg creep and mixed opinions on the magazines.
In the end, I decided to go with the RTI Mora instead. It felt like a more proven platform with better aftermarket support and tuning options. No regrets so far — it’s a very accurate and consistent rifle.
That said, the Epic One still seems like a solid choice, especially for the price. If you’re okay with possibly doing a few tweaks (like maybe swapping the reg later on), it’s definitely worth considering.
Pros:
Cons / things to keep an eye on:
- Build quality is impressive, especially considering the price point.
- Sidelever action is smooth, and the shot cycle is snappy.
- Comes pretty feature-packed: adjustable reg, power wheel, pic rail, and a decent trigger out of the box.
- Accuracy is surprisingly good, especially with JSB pellets.
- The regulator on early models wasn’t the most consistent — some users reported minor creep, but swapping to a Huma reg seems to fix that completely.
- Magazines work well but feel a little plasticky — they get the job done, though.
- Barrel might benefit from a clean and re-crown if you’re chasing top-tier precision.
Seems most guns suffer from reg creep , many are getting reg proplems on the rti moraI was actually very close to buying the Epic One a while back — it looked really promising on paper, and I liked the features for the price.
