It's getting harder and harder to find a tidy pistol as the years go by,and even harder to find one in a box but I guess that's to be expected as they are getting close to 60 years old now,so when this one popped up on a well known sales site described as almost brand new looking a quick phone call confirmed his father bought it brand new with a tin of pellets (which was included and around 50% used) and used it a few times before wrapping it in a plastic bag, putting in a draw and being forgot about for many years.
It has the components list inside the box dated as 1967 so u guess it's one of the first E series produced (1968-71 for the blued versions)
As the pellet tin was stored inside the box it's also in superb condition and nice bright orange still, unlike most which are sun faded, its by far the best condition tin I've acquired (and I have quite a few)
The price is written on the box £11/10/4 which is the old decimal pricing, which equates to £11.52 in today's money and a quick Google calculation makes that around £280 taking inflation into account.
As luck was was on my side he was going on a long drive passing fairly close to me so kindly offered to deliver it in a couple of hours and said I was lucky as I was the first to spot it minutes after going up for sale and he had 13+ messages wanting to buy it jist after me including dealers before he left.
As an added bonus when he got here he told me he had a very tidy chrome gat gun he was going to list later in the back of the cas so I bought it for a very reasonable £30
Anyway enough waffle here's a few pics

Stunning.
Hopefully you'll use it every now and again
and not have it as a box queen. 👍🏻
Na it will be a box queen,to be fair I'll use it very ocasionally as I do with all my mint ones, but I have plenty of old tatty ones I use regularly and to be fair they shoot much nicer than a new one,I presume because they are well worn in

Well done Stu. That's a lovely time capsule you have found. Good that the original accessories have stayed with the pistol too and not parted out by previous owners.

Cheers John
And yes sadly with the crazy prices of webley items at the moment I fear not many complete sets are left, and those that are have mostly been snapped up by collectors now,so it's nice when a "draw find" ocasionally turns up that's complete

Yes, finding a boxed Webley with all of its original paperwork and accessories present can be very challenging these days. Year ago, it was the norm and the paperwork was very useful in dating the set.

One of the last boxed Webleys I bought came from the late Keith Bayliss. It came in the crocodile style box that usefully had a parts diagram dated 1947 and I remember being grateful that it had stayed together all that time. Doing so today is getting harder and harder. The trouble is EBay prices attract owners to part their sets out, thereby destroying a set's story for ever.

Yes it's a real shame
My immaculate boxed mk2 target came in a superb box with the square cardboard pellet pack full of pellets but no paperwork, which.is a real shame,I've managed to replace it with genuine paperwork now but it's still not original,im guessing it was taken out many years ago as troubledshooter bought it in a house clearance many years ago and eventually sold it onto keith bayliss who sold it onto someone else before I eventually bought it.
I've managed to re add many items to most of the boxes but again as the paperwork is dated then I can only guess an approximate date so bought guarantee it's the correct date.

The good news with the Mk1 and Mk2 Stu, is some of the early pistols can be dated from the serial number. John Atkins shared production records in Air Gunner some years ago and undoubtedly this very helpful information will be included in the forthcoming Webley air pistols book.

Stunning, my E series is the most accurate steel Webley I have.
That one looks brand new.
Great find!

Another pair of webleys that I won on the VAGF auction that arrived yesterday
Another stunning .22 premier with spare .177 barrel and another mk2 junior
