I can not find anyone local to do this,tried several car body shops and couple aircon companies.
I need a to back a basic bracket to hold a 12v power supply,very light to my small compressor.
I need a "sheet" of 1.5/2mm x 150mm x 300mm BUT with a 90deg fold in the 300mm section to form a L shape bracket.
I bought a piece of ebay but failed awfully with the fold,not sharp or even straight,should of realised.
Dont have bench or vice suitable to try again.
Can supply the material if needed,not after mates rates etc.

All my tools are packed away in a lock up. No access to decent vice to allow cutting of the materials even.
 
I have a load of perforated steel sheet and a folding brake. The sheet is 1.5mm thick so very strong. The perforations are 4mm on a 5mm pitch so open area is 60%. Any good?

I would of done that BUT no access to vice/bench and tools at present
I even have a nice stash of sheet from a hefty PC case i had,all out of reach

Hi Markie,that sounds great and thanks for offer.I have contacted John with details AND have asked if he thinks aluminium will do the job,if not this might be a better option.
I dont think the perfs will be a issue BUT drilling the holes might be that much harder?

Why not just buy 2 L brackets, saw the ally in half and screw to the brackets?

I had exactly the same thought.

But was not brave enough to express it!

Sometimes my "inspired engineering" is not appreciated by everyone.

Looks like you are spoilt for choice.
WARNING. The 12 V power supply is a generic type. (Bu11shit word for all share a similar design).
The short circuit protection generally does not work because it is a rubbish design.
The day you even momentarily short the output, it will blow up internally and stop working.
When the evil day comes, I have the necessary near equivalent part, and it is not hard to replace it if you have access to a soldering iron.

Not me Colin, sorry.

I have no use for a compressor and my only 12 Volts power supply in on cars and bikes.

For me to much "hanging" from the thing. Intend to shorten the power leads right down do away with the croc clips and use the threads in the post and eyelets then cover all exposed metal.
Have made sure the 110 and 230 switch is fixed solid also.
I voided warranty already by opening it to make sure all looked (at least) safe with no bad connections.it looked well made to be fair.
if i am able to get it mounted on a bracket (easier to carry and i would defo forget the psu) wonder best way for a added earth?
 
The last time I did similar I just used a couple of QR clamps on a bit of wood, I just used our dining table as it's got a reasonably tight radius. It helps if you have a straight edge for the back too, and an understanding Mrs 🤣
