I'm having a clear out of my tool chests at work and have so many new and used (but still good) carbide/HSS end mills, slot drills, taps & dies, tip cutter inserts etc..
I don't really use them anymore as it's all done by cnc so its redundant, too good to throw away and anything knackered (carbide) will get scrapped.
I was wondering if anyone buys thus stuff these days, or is imported stuff cheap enough to buy new?

I have bought some tools and other stuff, it's usually after the owner has died or is unable to continue. I suppose that half of it would have been stuff that I won't use but was cheap enough not to worry about. I suppose it's much like other things, when you want it you just buy it new and pick up odd used stuff if iy looks as though it could be useful someday and is cheap. That's how we end up as hoarders!. I do have a weakness for morse taper drill bits.

People do buy tooling , I do anyway. I've picked up second hand hss drills and tooling from ebay . To be honest I've got stuff too big to use on my lathe so could do with a clear out myself.

Likr the above, I have too many & Now NO LATHE .
And many lathe items, Threading attachments .
Lathe threading tools Dies & holders, Etc

Tooling is EXPENSIVE. Not only that but you need lots even if you never use most of it. Buying used is sensible but that does help you to accumulate even more stuff that looked like an irresistible bargain at the time so it's probably cheaper to only buy what you need to do a job and buy new but, to be honest, there's no fun in that.

I’d deffo list it mate. It takes ages to track down decent quality tooling as we all know most of it is pressed trash from china.

I’ve got lazy and been using a Glanze 8mm square carbide tip holder on my small lathe, good reminder that I need to order some more inserts. There are some engineering tool groups on FB where that lot may sell but you don’t seem to get a lot for it.

Picked this set up for a mate via ebay, gave them a sharpen, wish I'd bought them now, not seen another set since,
in 64th on a bearing-ed stand. So handy.

I've recently acquired a Warco mill and lathe. They came with a few tools but always on the lookout for more to fill the drawers!
