Docklow Pools

Thinking of booking a few days here in the spring.

Anyone tried it ?

Many thanks

Ryan
We're there again in may for a week must be 7 or 8th time now and could never get enough. Both people and fishing is great also the pub food is second to none. Yes it's pricey but accommodation is very good not 5 star but more than adequate. Location is great not far to some nice days out like Hereford or Ludlow. Any questions please ask me ok cheers john.

I went last year, end of March into April. I think it was the first week open after the winter break. Resulted in very few anglers so the fishing was good, aided by unseasonable temps and almost zero rain. I had a cracking time. Owners, staff, residents and other anglers all very welcoming. Good choice of waters too IF you are renting a cottage or buy annual membership (c. £70). Day ticket waters limited to 3 or 4 from memory. I particularly enjoyed the tench pool, which is not solely tench, but does seem to be anything but carp. Some of the "main" pools are carp soup in the margins of an evening, if that's your thing. Tackle shop and bar/restaurant are excellent. Accomodation is a bit tired but functional. Good tackle storage sheds. Easy access to the lakes by car.

That's great to hear, many thanks, my buddy and I have booked for three nights in May, really looking forward to this. We only started fishing about a year ago and fished mainly natural waters so far so this is really exciting.

no worries, you will have a great time. I didn't mention rivers as I went in closed season so couldn't fish those but have been told by mates that the stretches are decent. Of course, they will be closed in May when you visit.
One thing to note, they limit you to their own pellets, don't take your own or buy branded ones from the tackle shop. You have to buy the fishery specific ones. Also no groundbait from memory. Well worth checking the rules, before you go.

Great tip, many thanks, I'll be sure to check up on the rules before I go.
