So, following on from my thread about Hydro dipping companies and pricing for rifle stocks, it was pointed out to me that it can be done at home, DIY style at a fraction of the cost of professional hydro dipping.

After looking at YouTube, I must say that they make it look very straight forward to do it at home yourself!

So, who has actually done their own hydro dipping of rifle stocks, shrouds etc etc??

Those who have tried it, was it successful and are you happy with the results?

Has anyone tried it and screwed it up and wished they didn't do it??

Lessons learnt from those who done it themselves that they'd do differently if to so it again?

Obviously if this is the route I take to do my own Uragan stocks and shrouds, I'd be practicing on non important items until I'm confident to do the stocks and shrouds.

Thanks in advance.

I used to make and sell DIY Hydro dipped FX Impact cheek pieces before the 3D print boys started.
All i will say is practice makes perfect, took me a while to get the hang of it and in the end i had it sussed but these were only small parts.
If its a one off job i’d just pay someone, unless like me you enjoy having a go at stuff.
