For £3.20 I gave this a punt. It arrived yesterday and appears to be pretty decent quality. The rounds did rattle a bit but a bit of foam from a tin of .177 pellets fits perfectly and stops that.

I just found this on AliExpress:
Mini .22LR Ammunition Storage Box Pocket Size Fits 50 Rounds Secure Screw Lid Durable Case For Small Caliber Rounds

I have a 3d printer and make my own, but that is a cracking price!

Why would you need one when .22 comes in a nice little plastic box with rounds individually separated anyway ?

Not trying to be argumentative but is there something I have been missing all these years?

It seems to be akin to buying a tin of pellets then buying another tin to put the tin into

I don’t understand either, except the stepped ones that make it much easier to grab the little blighters lol

Some just come on a flat strip, I think my Norma subs do? If you take them out of the box they all roll off the bench.

Not all .22lr comes in nice packets or boxes.
Personally I would like a plaggy box that you can take the tray out of say RWS/GECO cardboard boxes and just put the whole complete tray in a waterproof box with a lid. That i’d consider.

I cant get why u would carefully take rounds out of a tray and put them in another 🤷🏻‍♂️

Some .22lr are only coming in a box with no plastic tray but I can't remember the brand .

Edit. It was some Winnie subs that some one bought and there was no tray in the box .

Also the SK Magazine comes in a tin. You could keep old boxes with the tray in and put then in it but some like these other boxes that are being shown.

Some may want to put them in boxes rather than carry the tin.

I will be looking to get one of of the .22lr boxes @Lightning22 does.

As stated above, it depends on your brand of ammo. It also depends on whether you're at the range or out in the field. Having dropped more than a few rounds from dodgy boxes when out hunting, I'm hoping my new screwtop box will be more secure.

Well I've ordered three, because I'm sick of the latest Winy sub boxes.
They are ok when full but once a few are taken out the ammo just rattles round. Also in the dark, I've opened the box upside down 😳

One of the handiest boxes I've found to take rimfire rounds out and about is the MTM Ammo Wallet:-

Takes 30 rounds, and can have a mixture of calibres, or in the case of .22LR, a mix of subs and standard, etc.

Under a tenner at Uttings:-

I'm more than happy with the one I got from @Lightning22 anyway, concertina tray helps space them out but can alter the splay to keep varieties separate as well.

Just keeping some of the odds & sods in there for now
