A few questions Daystate Airwolf wise

1 - For a lefty is it just a case of installing a LH bolt handle replacing the default RH one or does the slide need replacing too ?
2 - Does the Airwolf have the same footprint as the Redwolf rifle stock / chassis wise ?
3 - is the stock trigger worth upgrading to a sports match type trigger ?

Personally I quite like having a bolt that you can operate without having to remove your trigger hand from the gun (obviously we’re talking bench rested).
The trigger on mine is standard, but also sublime. As people say, it’s like clicking a button as opposed to pulling a traditional trigger.
They are an awesome gun as is, so if you’re serious about getting one, I’d suggest shooting it for a bit before tweaking things.

I have an Airwolf Bob, but am right handed so not sure about Q1. Q2 probably, but can’t say for sure. It will be close. Trigger ios electronic and very light. I think a bit of ‘pellets down range’ will help more than changing the trigger.

Cheers Chris
I've scratched the itch today on the forum so it's not in my possession yet.
Defo if I'm gonna shoot it BR then Ill leave the cocking on the right as thats my pellet loading hand. The question was around if I did want to shoot it other disciplines.

Thats a valid point regards the trigger as now I'll be shooting an electric one so feel is less critical.

As for the stock I'm just gauging options open.

The standard stock is fully ambidextrous. So should be ok to get you going 👍
Yours has the added bonus of having a riser conversion.
And also some really top grade walnut. (A lot nicer than mine. 🤢)

They are very, very good guns.
And seriously accurate.
This was five shots at 32 yards

I’m confident you’ll love it.
And a great price as well.

1, No you need a couple of other parts to swap to left hand, I'll try to find the how to guide when I can do...
2, I don't think so, but I gave up with DS by then...
3, yes the match trigger is a lot better

My old 2010 wolf mct I tweaked and mapped myself.
Got me some really good HFT scores..
Match trigger, huggett kit, West side step tray etc etc

The stock was amazing by @markyboy off here.

Nice one, much appreciated 👍

Bob , you’re not going to be disappointed with the gun . I was very tempted to buy it myself and had a couple of conversations with the seller about it . As stated they are super accurate , and shoot fantastically. I’m sure you’ll be over the moon with it .

Not this day but the next time I had it out at the same place shooting about the same distance as this first target

I plonked it on the bench, no zeroing of the gun, no breakfast inside me and put 29 shots inside a circle the size between a £1 and £2 coin, about 25mm max. Shot number 30 was just outside the circle, so I decided it was time to have a sandwich and can of coke to get my blood sugar up. :ROFLMAO:

I was talking to a chap and his wife at the range yesterday (I didn't have a gun with me) who was shooting his Daystate something wolf. He asked if I would like a go which I did.

It was not comfortable for me, my cheek in a natural position was miles away from the scope, anyway, I was hitting the bell every time with a little effort. Potentially brilliant gun but it needed setting up differently for me. It left me very impressed and he told me it had no electronics which also impressed me, I wouldn't want to worry about electrical faults. :)

With that stock, at that price, I damn near went for it myself.
And I’ve already got one 😂

Great to read. I shoot a bit of HFT, but my main discipline is World Rules Benchrest, so I have some pretty decents rifles, this was one too good to turn away to add to the collection 👌

In terms of just changing the bolt over, its not quite that simple. You can switch the bolt handle easily, but it will end up with up being the shoot position, and down being the cocking stroke. If you want to make it a full conversion, the brass piece inside has to be replaced (see below). That will let the rifle cocking pin move on the opposite side, so the bolt sits in the correct position. However.. I have only ever found 1 left coking arm, as its not a straightforward flip- there is a raised piece on the front that is needed to move the mag on to the next pellet. Its posible to file this off, and weld or braze a piece on the other side but i can promise its a fiddly job to do. Alternatively, if you just use single shot, the brass piece can be filed off and turned over, as it has no effect with the standard SS tray.

which is a great guide.

Thanks for the confirmation that was my concern. I'll probably just leave as is as Im used to cocking both sides. 👍
