I'll start by first saying that I am in no way associated with Darren and D Range other than as a paying customer, and apologies if this reads like an "Airgun World Magazine Review" , if you read the reviews you will know what I mean but I was genuinely blown away by the whole setup

D Range is located in a small Hamlet about 5 mins drive off the A30 St Austell so its easy enough to get to for me, M5 from just South of Bristol and nice steady drive along the A30. I was met at the gate by Darren who showed me where to park, offered to help me carry all my stuff then gave me a guided tour of the Cabin (toasy warm) and the range.

The cabin has everything you need to make the stay comfortable, central heating, fridge, cooker, hob, utensils, tea and coffee!!, pull down double bed, sofa bed, LARGE shower and all important shooting bench, what makes this unique is that you shoot from inside the cabin, literally you can get up in the morning and be hurling lead down range before the kettle has even boiled!!!!

I went down with a boot full of stuff only to find that he already had shooting bag rests, staple gun, bench rests if you want them, air, spotting scope etc and wifi!!!

Here's are a couple of pictures of the inside of the cabin

So the range itself, this is where it excels, Darren has set up target pits at 25M, 35M, 45M and 50M with the furthest set back at about 52M, as well as the shooting pits he also has resetable knockdown targets set at different ranges and the now famous (thanks to Adz) Saw ringers at all ranges with the most challanging ones at the 50-53M mark where you can adjust the hole size from about 10mm to just larger than a .177mm pellet if you are feeling brave.

One other point , all the ranges are flood lite so if you havent had enough shooting when the sun goes down you can carry on!!!!!! I didnt try this but will have a play next time

What I like about the range apart from the excellent set up is the peace and quiet, you can turn up, have the place to yourself, shut the world and all its troubles out of your mind and just concentrate on your shooting, now Im not the best of shots as still learning but as the hours passed the groups got tighter, rang the bells and pellet tested to my hearts content, ( H&N and JTS seem to be the best for my guns)

I didnt see the D Bunker but will have a look next time Im down there, in conclusion I congratulate Darren for making a brilliant well thought out and unique range and allowing other the use of it at what is in todays world a bargain price

Thank you Darren for a great weekend and looking forward to my next visit in May, and no doubt a few more times over the year
