please after some advice for a silencer due to cci mini mags being to loud to use at our club ? its for a cz 457 mtr.

Hi, welcome to the AGF.
You are spoilt for choice these days with regards to .22 LR moderators, but by far the most popular is the SAK, very reasonably priced, and does the job extremely well, particularly when using subsonic ammunition, which might be worth trying, as it will reduce the muzzle report from your MTR considerably in comparison to the Mini-Mags.

THE MINIMAGS ARE PRETTY LOUD !! IVE TRIED ELEY MATCH THROUGH IT WITH VERY GOOD RESULTS ALSO.
ANY PARTICULAR SAK MODEL ?
THANKS FOR THE REPLY BTW

Just go with the standard sak,,I had info off a chap on here who had the sak 2 also,,he said it wasn't worth the extra expense ,,I've got two saks now,one for hmr,,

First of all, is it a 16" or 20"?

I have Wildcat Panthers, which are great on the 457s (both .17HMR & .22LR) and I also use my Wildcat Evo on the .17HMR

I have a 16" MTR, and the stock stops you from fitting a Panther on a 16" barrel, as it hits the stock before it is fully snugged up.

I had a Wildcat Cub on the MTR, but that is now gone, and am looking to try a Freyr & Devik FW88 on it next.

Any reason you are using MiniMags on it though? I have had far better accuracy with the SK lineup.

Its all been said, theres loads of rimfire mods but the sak just does the job, you can buy it in 1/2 unf, 1/2 unef( fine thread) proofed on ticket or unproofed off ticket for airgun, and they do a sak 2 and even do a mini sak, i pressume your barrels screw cut 1/2 unf just standard, you wont go wrong with it though i just spray silensave in mine after a bit of use and job done.

Only going on info from the RFD that sold it to me saying he had good results from them. To be fair I've only tried Eley match through it so far....

Welcome any help trying to find a better option though plus itll save me a few quid 😄

The SAK mod will be cost effective and work well on your MTR. Your rifle has a match chamber and shoots best with match ammo. Most MTR's shoot well with SK ammo such as rifle match. There is always the exception and my son's shoots RWS R50 best. Try a few boxes and see what it likes, I would ditch the minimags to be honest. Your rfd may have had good results with them but probably not in an MTR.

I have Freyr & Devik 88 and it's the worst rimfire silencer I've tried. It's much louder than old SAK so marketing hype of 35dB supression is just plain lie.

SAK is good enough for the job - I've also used an A-TEC CMM6 on both .22lr and .17hmr and it's a lightweight and excellent option (and dare I say it looks a bit better than the SAK).
CMM-6

I use an a-tec on my cz457 MDT (20"barrel),it's no better than the sak but as said earlier it looks better. You can literally just hear the bolt click with subs.Rws subs, s+k rifle and pistol match give excellent results.
