Always been a cp1/2 guy but curiosity is making me want to have a go/play with a crossman. Any ideas what to go for or look for or if it's even worth it?
That's the thread that started me possibly wanting one hahaDo you like the look of these?
2240 see mine / show me yours.
So I got this off of my mate the other day . I’ve had loads of them in the past . I Keep buying them. This one is spot on . Show me yours.airgunforums.co.uk

That why I bought mine a few years ago. Cheap, utilitarian, and easy. I leave the co2 in so its always ready. Never had a problem with it. Good luck..Thanks for the info mate. I'm sure I'll end up with one even if I hate it and use it as a dispatch pistol that I don't worry about! Think I'll wait to see if any come up on offer
I have 4 different Crosmans. Not all 2240s.That's the thread that started me possibly wanting one haha
Pellpax are cheaper at the mo at £94.99. Having said that, they’ve gone up £10 since last week!I have 4 different Crosmans. Not all 2240s.
Love them all. Easy to work on if you want to tinker. Powerful straight out of the packet if you just want to shoot.
Pretty cheap too for what you get. £115 for a 2240 at Solware right now. (example) Keep your eye on the sales section.
I've spend so much on my cp1/2s it's unrealBudam is absolutely right the 2240 is an air pistol money hole but it can be fun
sometimes it is best to buy one that has been started and add to it let the first guy take the beating
we in the states have been lucky because there is no end to old pistols that came out of the Crosman custom shop fewer now
look at the Crosman 2300S it is a custom shop pistol in reality but in .177
you have a LW barrel, the William rear site, long steel breech and that alone is about 210.00 in upgrades if you were in the states
throw in the spring adjuster and muzzle brake and close to the 2240 in price
add some wood grips and you have a wonderful pistol
add the 1720p trigger group and hammer even better but even in the states you are well over 400.00
how do you know if the pistol is worth the price, it is be sold at
simple take it apart price the pieces
but these are just ideas no more no less and yes i have some 2240 i thing around 10+ lost track really
if they offered part for the CP2 it could be the same type of platform but they don't
in the 2240 custom hay day we had 2 dozen people with custom parts now very few and the Crosman custom shop is no more
so we are at the end of the 2240 custom pistol builds i'm afraid
mike in the states
There is a fella in Leesburg Georgia that makes custom bits, AlchemyAirWerks selling under Needfulthings on eBay.Budam is absolutely right the 2240 is an air pistol money hole but it can be fun

This 2240 evolved from a standard £99 gun into what you see, (£1000+), if your pockets are deep and your imagination is wild then ……
Soon adds up, but the biggest mistake was £350 ish on chrome plating and polishing, do all the polishing in house now.£1000+........How????
Remind me tomorrow to post a costing list…£1000+........How????
I wish I could afford to get a cp1 breech polished. I used to do a lot of polishing myself but I'm way too lazy and busy these daysRemind me tomorrow to post a costing list…Otherwise I’ll forget
Bearing in mind the list of costs doesn’t include a longer barrel and Martin Hird stock…£1000+........How????
Wow, it's an expensive gun to tinker with compared to my cp based stuff!Bearing in mind the list of costs doesn’t include a longer barrel and Martin Hird stock…
