Crosman Trapmaster 1100

The Crosman Trapmaster produces muzzle energy 2 or 3 times our 12 ft/lbs airgun limit and therefore owning one is not allowed without it being subject to a section one FAC. Buying and selling them requires you to mbe a RFD.
Its important other members of this forum are aware of that and dont get into trouble after reading this thread :( .
sec 1 most likely with a std barrel
has anyone chrono'd one with shot just to see and tbh thinking about it what load of shot would you use

You will find that the collective power of the entire mass of shot run past the usual velocity equation coming out big numbers because of the entire weight in grains. In reality quite anemic, each shot running a few ftlbs or so at 15-20 yards

The shot pattern matches that of a 410 out to about 15 yds or so more than capable of dusting down starlings with the right lead, as per usual with a 410

Both Trapmasters was purchased from a reputable auction house & not listed as fac or sg & was tested by the auction house prior to sale, I also have receipt of lot collection

I think if you really delve into it the 1100 it does not fall under fac or sg certification requirement as it is co2 powered & not a "self contained" cartridge powered therefore "shotgun" by description and name rather than by the legal definition, regardless of barrel length or anything else, basically it needs to be under 12ftlb and used only as intended with "shot shells" using none standard or none intended projectiles it may fall into a very grey area regards actually trying to get one licensed

Wrong.
the law states capable of producing more than 12ftlbs . and it certainly can

Thanks for the comments folks,

Yes they're capable of taking out rats & birds up to around 20-30 yards with the shot shells & will do around 450fps on low power & around 500fps on high power. The reloading kit comes with no.4, no.6 & no.8 shot. Considering no.8 shot is only around 1.0 grn per shot, no.6 around 1.62 grn & no.4 about 2.6 grn so if you calculate each shots ftlbs it's not a lot.

If you use .380 lead balls it will do around 30 ftlbs, that's not what the Trapmaster was originally intended to use.

You’ll get about 30 shots on high power with the gas from two co2 capsules. You can also just use a single fresh powerlet with an empty one inserted to give the necessary length, but you’ll cut the number of shots by more than half. Some owners convert it to bulk fill using a bulk fill cap from a Crosman 160
.380 lead balls produce in your own words more that 12ftlbs.

i collect crosmans and over the years have had many offered inc a few from up your way but the fact that they can and will shoot solid ball puts them very grey more to sec 1 and an area i'm not willing to go ,i'd love to have one but if i did i would either fit a .22 barrel or deactivate it

Always one ey @Norman Ha
There IS always one....agreed....always one who says he has more...bigger or better....but surprisingly enough when pushed to show photographs of them turns to insults. For me the collector who is proud of their collection & new editions to it & prepared to "share" it on here with other members is much more respected than ones who just throw idiotic statements around without any proof at all.

Well done fella & thanks for sharing your new additions & promotional Crosman literature with us...appreciated. (y)

Now the 451 would be a great addition to any crosman collection @Norman the 600's I've only heard good things about them but I've never really got into tbh with it's star trek phaser look

The 600's are a hoot....had a couple....be prepared to buy plenty of Co2 capsules though.....I had an 1100 Trapmaster back in the day & an accomplished cley shooter used it (at short range) to shoot real cleys....long since gone but another Crosman that for a while was a trail blazer...keep collecting fella & don't be put off by any negative comments... Nice to see some Trapmasters and other nice Crosman products.
Here is mine: https://airgunforums.co.uk/threads/trapmaster.18656/
I did a report on the old forum, and got about 35 ft/lbs with .375 lead balls.
I live in the Netherlands, no power restrictions for airguns here.
It was difficult to chrony shot. I would get weird readings, probably because of the wads I use to keep the shot together in the shells.
