Had a little visit to a gun outlet near where we’re staying in Devon and the had a smallish shelf of pellets. Picked up a tin of .22 Bisley Practice to try in the Park but also a box of Crosman Premier .22 which I haven’t seen in a while as they now seem to be in tins and not so good quality.
What’s the general thought on these 2008 Premiers……….dom

Boxed were always, at least from the same die...like all else though, they'll shoot or they won't.

I thought they were 😉 as they were very reasonably priced…..dom
I'd go back and grab them then. Stands to reason they'll shoot well in one or 3 rifles you might own.
Mine weren't quite reasonable at $50ish a box but when opportunity finally presented itself, I snagged 10 boxes and part of an 11th of the .20 caliber Premiers. All are from Die #2, which from everything I'm told were the best of them and I've now got about 6700 of them in the stash of .20 cal pellets I have stashed away.

Die #2 7.9gn premiers were a staple diet for my AR4 back in the day... I was gutted when the die wore out and you couldn't get them any more. The die #5 ones were OK but not as consistent. It was around the time that JSBs started appearing on the circuit and everyone seemed to switch to those 🙂

Excellent. I've still got lots of 7.9 177 and .20 14.3
Just rereading the thread and noticed that your .20 are the same weight as the .22, it gave me a panicy moment as I thought I’d got a misprinted box and they were .20 😃.
Checked against the Practice and they match the skirt size so panic over 😆😆…..dom

I got three full boxes of .20 for £10 per box and an almost full box that was opened for £5 from the local RFD . They had been sitting there for years. I got them for an ex member on here .

I'm still using a box I bought, blimey, probably 20 years ago possibly. Go well enough in the BSA but it's kind of horrible watching them disappear knowing you can't get them like that anymore!

Well, this is from a .22 Air Arms Pro Elite, shooting 14.3 gr. boxed Premiers, at 830 fps. Sitting on my porch, with elbows rested on my knees, at 67 yards. Shot #8 dinked the rim and turned over the can.

mixed opinions on .22 Premiers even the boxed ones of that age, used them in my FAC Rapid, 1000fps+, like a laaazer to 80 yds.
However quality went to pot and there was also a whole batch of crap boxed up as Webley Premiers, either 2006 or 2008 die #1.
I'll check in a bit. I still have three boxes in the cupboard

Went back and picked up the last box, I thought there were more but my addled brain obviously can’t count. Anyway two full boxes of the same die number for £11.99 each for these I don’t think is too bad a price.
Do I keep to shot or keep as a bit of a collectors item…..dom
