Hi everyone :) This question has probably been asked before, but I'll try again.
What type of air pistol do you recommend for competitive shooting? And what do you use? Feel free to add pictures :)

Bear whit me for my english, i am using google translate a bit :P I am from Norway'.

By competitive I assume you mean 10m? The next question is how far do you want to take it ? And how much do you have to spend?
Starting at the bottom would be a Gamo Compact £120 -£150, readily available new or second hand
FAS 604 good SSP quality, available second hand only, £300 ish,
Baikal 46m SSP, £250 -£350 available 2nd hand probably the most modern available SSP
Older CO2 pistol by FWB, Walther £200 - £500 99% as good as a modern pistol just £2k less
Second hand pcp, Steyr LP10, Morini, £800 - £1200 2nd hand, not much better than CO2 but pcp
New FWB PX8 £2200 available and you would never have any excuse for an 8 😉
Also you need to try many to see what suits you as they are all different and what suits me perfectly will leave you wondering if you can even hold it.
Bottom line is that the Gamo Compact on are all capable of holding the 10 ring, just some make it easier.
By the best you can then work at it, check out the 10m shooting thread on here for how to advice.

Having just ventured into 10m pistols myself, I;d say if you want to shoot competitively, buy the best you can afford

I found an excuse to buy a P8X and I'm glad I did
But I also have a slightly modified Snowpeak PP20. I can shoot the pp20 well, but the FWB edges it
It can seem a lot more money for a top end pistol, but I'd say, its worth it

Yes 10 meter and i can use about 800-1200. There are not any places nerby me that sell these, so i have to order from an othr place in Norway, i live in Trondheim. I will check out the section and see :) What do you mean about PCP vs CO2. I dont have all the other things that i need for pcp, so maybye co2 its better for me. You have a nice collection man :)

Which one do you prefer out of the ones you have?

There are some cracking co2 pistols around. I've recently sold 2 BRNO Tau7's
But don't discount SSP target pistols either

But I will say, that newer pistols are more refined. I'd look out for a used Steyr LP2

Or maybe a hand pump for pistols will suffice?

What about

Hammerli AP20 PRO

PCP is high pressure air, this is the system that is used by all modern top end competition pistols. You will either need a dive air cylinder (300 bar is best) which needs to be tested and then filled, or a hand pump with a moisture trap.
CO2 is liquid co2 and was used by most of the top end pistols in 1980’s to 1990’s. All these need it the adapter to connect (which should come with the pistol) and an out of date co2 fire extinguisher.
Personal favourite, at the moment,,,,the blue and silver Walther CPM1 or maybe the Walther CP 201 but then the FWB C20 is very good and has an easier to use dry fire switch. 🙄

Would be a good choice 👍 lots around and seem to have a good reputation, same price point as a Steyr lp2. Good for its ability to switch the air cylinder from horizontal to vertical which means you can really alter the balance to suit you.

You may find the following interesting
2 cards shot with a pp20 abd 2 with a fwb p8x
Not much difference as I’m only just getting into it
I’d say I have more chance of progressing with the fwb

I think it's between the Hammerli AP20 PRO and the Snowpeak PP20. What do you think about these?

i can get 5 PP20 for the price of 1 P8X, is it so much better?
It's the Indian, not the bow and arrow. If you're just starting out, the Snowpeak will outperform your abilities just as well as the P8X.
Anyway, both are not on stock at most vendors I've seen. The PP20 however is a little bit available pre-owned.

Here in Norway i can get 5 PP20 for the price of 1 P8X, is it so much better?
The trigger is better on the fwb and the grip is multi adjustable
I found the pp20 grip too big so fitted a steyr grip
The pp20 is also heavy so I’ve fitted a steyr compact cylinder and lp2 compensator unit

Certainly not as refined as the FWB but if you can handle the grip size and overall weight, I'd say they're a great buy
Mines not missed a beat and I really like it

A. Sorry for slightly derailing the thread.
B. Sorry for being a little thick.

But what on earth do you mean by switching from horizontal to vertical? I’ve had a quick internet search and come up empty handed.

First of all your English is much better than my Norwegian that joke over my suggestion would be get the best you can afford as for filling it if you are a club member you will probably find they have a large bottle you can fill from my club charge 30 p a fil for pistols and £ 1 for a rifle if that is not possible your local gun shop can do it .some co2 pistols are good but you have the problem with temperature Norway begin much colder than the uk if you join a club I would look at what other people are using hope this helps Sidelock 12 good luck and welcome to my sport :-)
