Good morning all.

Having just re-sealed the second CO2 gun over the past couple of weeks I've been looking into ways to stop the gas eating the seals when it is left in the gun.
This gives a couple of options. CO2 savers and keep the big cartridges or a dual 12g converter and use the small ones.
I'm just after a bit of advice or opinions on both and which (if either) are better.
Do they work or do they give low flow, erratic flow or just leak/etc?
Do they last with repeated use?
Do they damage the gun over time (I can't help but think having continual pressure against the piercing pin is less than ideal?) and do they mean the stock won't go on - if so are there solutions to that?

Guns are a Sig MCX and a Webley Nemesis X but others will probably be added in the future. Can the adapters be swapped between guns so we could just use whatever is left in a cartridge in whichever gun we feel like using?

I suppose the other option is to convert to hpa but I presume that would be cost prohibitive as it would probably be cheaper to trade the gun in for a pcp at that point?

I recently did the seals on a Sig MCX and found the twin co2 adapter (which I think was a Walther from memory) didn't actually fit the gun. It screwed in but the neck wasn't long enough to meet the seal and pin so check compatibility.

The cost of seal kits and spare for co2 stuff is dearer than PCP's!

88g cartridges are ridiculously expensive
Using a 12g converter will be fine, just ensure you get the correct one for your gun as some have short necks as mentioned above

I think thats a slight issue with the MCX anyway. I've had a couple of cartridges (both Umarex) fail to pierce where the thread has been machined slightly short and the gun just doesn't allow for it. Most are fine but its a problem I've never had with any other gun.
When it was in bits I noticed the piece of the body which the pin holder butts up against is slightly bent but looking at pics of others it seems thats normal. Maybe a casting issue? I'm tempted to shim it but don't really want to mess while its working.

The Umarex 12g co2 adaptor has a valve so can be removed without loosing co2.

The single 12g adaptors don't have a valve.

If the gun is holding gas, I would use a 88g cylinder and shoot the lot off.
I wouldn't be leaving gas in the gun, it always seeps out. Leaving 12g capsules in the gun can squish seals
