So the valve knob thingy is sticking on my shower, removed it and tried soaking in descaler and also various vinegar solutions without much success . Having not long recovered from abdominal surgery pulling the little bugger out I am actually risking a hernia. The above fix works for now but the gf is not so impressed with the aesthetic look.
New valve with a tap was tried as well but the flow was pathetic so put this one back on, looking for any suggestions for a better fix?

Small piece of tubing with a slot cut in to `clip` over and behind the said knob, to keep it pushed out ?
It stays out fine, it is the pulling it out after it has been pushed in I am struggling with.

The spanner is being used as a lever, not to keep the button out, just to move it out to the open position.

I have plenty of metal tie wraps. Use for fire alarms etc. I can send you some if you want. They're about 5 inch long.
Thanks for the offer, the spanner will have to go eventually once i either replace or fix the sticking valve for good

Any way you can put a ring on the plunger ?

Maybe some one with a 3d printer could make something similar to this but to fit the Knob you have .
