Yes, I know there's no cheap and good but something that doesn't break the bank and will still hit things. Now I've started taking pistol shooting a bit more seriously now that I got my 9mm and I'm looking for a quiet practice gun that I can shoot in my garage and backyard. I have PCPs so that would be a natural powerplant. What is available in low price bracket?

Magazine would be nice although not must, good trigger, possibility to attach silencer although I can make threads and adapters so that's no biggie. Something that resembles modern day pistols in size and feel and makes enough power for occasional small size pest shooting if needed.

I'm currently using my Webley Tempest for practice but the barrel lock lever is in really poor position for my thumb so I can't use proper grip with it. It's also a bit louder than I want for my backyard.

The Snowpeak PP800R is not expensive but is a very accurate pistol.
It has a regulator, and can be used with either a magazine or the single-shot tray.
Cocking lever (bolt action) is on the left side, which is ideal for a right handed shooter.

Ugly to my eyes but that doesn't really matter if it works. How does it feel when you grip it, sights being so high above the trigger line? Is the silencer removable, I would probably make a smaller CF can for it?

It feels very solid and comfortable in the hand.
The sight is a cheap, red dot sight. Sighting isn't a problem.... it is zeroed for the distance of our club's indoor range.

Another vote for the Mito, trigger can be a little rough on heavy as reported on some. Synthetic version comes with a carbine stock adapter, and they all come with a moderator adapter. Lots of reports that the aftermarket mags are better than the originals, but I haven't had a problem with mine. The sights are very limited in their adjustment.
The PP750 can be a bit unwieldy as a pistol and I found it better suited to it's intended carbine nature. The wire stock isn't adjustable for length of pull, but if you can do some machining then your can make it happen. The wire stock can be a bit flexible/torsion so an aftermarket check riser from Bop Pattenden can assist with this.

Sounds like a Rohm would fit your bill

It looks a bit front heavy, how does it feel with proper two hand grip?
It feel's ok to me --but then you ask about being front heavy and ask about screwing a silencer on? that will make it more front heavy --they don't really need a mod as the barrel is already shrouded you can add a mod that makes them very quite but then longer and slightly heaver

Not meaning to hijack or derail this thread, quick question, what’s a decent entry level competition only pistol, an equivalent to say HFT 500 in the rifle world

Not a 'cheap' option, per se, but my vote would go to the Mito, especially when on sale. I have owned the Snowpeak/Atremis PP700SA, and in my opinion, it does not compare.

The Mito is not a 'match' grade pistol and was never intended to be. That said, accuracy is genuinely on par with anything available, and the trigger can be hugely improved with a simple spring swap (a few quid and under 10 minutes work). The trigger is actually not as terrible as some owners report, at least, the latest versions do not appear to be... However, if you're used to a match-grade experience (as I am), then it will feel heavy out of the box. If dedicated target pistol shooting is your intended pursuit, then you might want to consider something different/match-focused, which, in PCP format, will cost considerably more.

@SPB has summarised the Mito quite well (post #9). The 'S' (synthetic) version comes with a quick-fit/takedown stock, which adds to the fun and essentially gives you an instant 'mini carbine'. There are also walnut and laminate gripped variants, which do not include a stock (the stock cannot be retrofitted to those; it requires the synthetic grip too). You would probably be better off choosing the synthetic version and ordering a BobP target grip, which is more suited to target work and incorporates an adjustable palm shelf.

I'm no expert, but I would have thought someting along the lines of the Air Arms Alfa Proj or Steyr LP2/Evo 10,

That said, if you Google that question, the AI mentions the Mito, alongside others 😅

Never trust the hallucinating sycophant machine

Really? I think you're being a touch unfair and paranoid...

I use it for everything. For example... I asked Gemini to suggest a quick get rich investment, and it hooked me up with a lovely gentleman who, unfortunately, had £50m USD funds frozen in Cuba and promised me 50% if I helped him release it. It only cost me a £10k investment. He's travelling to Cuba now to sign the documentation, which is why I haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks.
