I keep thinking about getting some yellow tint glasses for nights but are they really any good? can anyone recommend any?

as headlights seem to have got alot brighter and dont get me started on the idiots in traffic at night who keep there foot on the brake pedal, which then lights up the whole inside of my car.

My first pair were generic Ting Tongs that fitted over my glasses, but I found them too bulky and uncomfortable around the ears - have now bought a pair of clip ons which are very helpful at reducing glare. See HERE

As my eyes got older I've found increasing strain when driving at night, especially motorway or any journey exceeding 30 minutes.
Although costing less than £5, the set I keep in van are most useful and I'd encourage anyone to give it a try.
An additional unexpected benefit is with my small TV, reading teletext is much easier when wearing them.

The ones for the visor work well for those who I know use them, plus its a shade when need at other times

Though they wont help if looking to the side .

My first pair of yellow glasses were about £9 ish from Sainsburys - made an amazing difference.
The second pair - first pair mislaid - were the same price but not quite as good; very similar but a slightly squarer style.

Worth looking through them before buying if possible.

Slightly off topic - do you have cataracts developing?
This will cause the light to be diffused as it enters your eyes and increases the (perceived) glare.
Easy test - if you want.....
Get a piece of card and make a small hole in the middle, maybe 1/8" or similar
Close the other eye and look through the little hole, repeat for the other eye.
If the image is clearer then you need to be checked for cataracts - worth getting a professional opinion if you are in any doubt at all.

Also, if you wear prescription glasses then the extra expense of an "Anti Glare" coating is money well spent.

Looks great.
I just bought one from Amazon.

Thank you.

The option to lower the "sunglasses" type visor when driving into the low, winter sun looks promising.

We got one for our Focus as my wife needed one and the clip broke . Similar to this one Halfrauds sells but made not as well made .

The Focus sun visor was fairly thick and it just snapped the clip. Found it in the footwell the next morning.

thx for the recommendations so far everyone.

@Bighit - I didnt know about those sunshade type - I will have a look on aliexpress, also I do already have some bolle safety shooting glasses so will give them a go first as well, cheers.

@Byronic - no cataracts, I just recently had my first eye test at 50 but I am waiting on some prescription glasses. I will look into the anti glare coating on my next pair, cheers.

I use MOD issue ESS glasses; include clear, tinted and yellow wrap round lens'.
Search 'ballistic glasses' on eblag

Edit: I see you already have some (y)

If you use Amazon, check 'em out, there are loads to styles to choose from and not expensive 👍🏻

I understood that it's the enhanced contrast that reduces eye strain, much like the benefit of using a green filter on NV scopes or welding masks?

You're Welcome some come as one shade only or both. Ours was both in one unit. It did work for my wife but after a few weeks we found it in the footwell of the car . I did try to modify it but I gave up.

You may want to get checked out for astigmatism also, as I have this in one eye and night driving was a real headache (literally) until I had corrective lenses.
