Can anybody explain exactly what "Tactical" means?

Hmm when I hear or read the word 'tactical' I always think military for some reason?

also a sure fire way (lol) to get slotted by AR if you're caught being naughty with it :unsure:
 
Cheap and cheerful stuff to hand over to squaddies who don't appreciate quality and most likely damage it. So better to give them something functional, cheap and hardy.
Ideally, modular, so cheap to repair/replace
Can you imagine a lovely walnut stock with the squaddie name scratched into it!!!
 
Ever since marketing departments the world over realised Tactical Stock sounds better than black polymer it just seems to mean black.
 
Probably came from black blades and the like which have a practical use in the correct non civilian environment. Same use as "Bushcraft" probably to sell things.

If I like something and it serve my purpose I'll buy it.

I wear camo ripcord trousers why because they are the only trousers my 40kg working terrier can't destroy (he's a mouthy git) and also pretty cheap. I also buy ex surplus stuff as I'm out a lot in all types of weather and it's cheap practical and as good or better than clothing costing many times as much.
 
Tactical surely relates to anything inspired by 'modern' military equipment, which (generally speaking) should offer an improvement on historic equipment.

Anyone not interested in anything 'Tactical' is sadly drowning themselves in outdated gear, with a mindset that's probably driven by nostalgia rather than progressive, forward thinking 😁

Have you maybe tried denim, or leather or PVC 😘

But seriously though, if your only option is military camo trousers in the urban jungle warfare in Essex then I guess you're stuck with them

Also you have confirmed that surplus camo trousers are the most durable material on the market - possibly even known to man?

I know they're lively but honestly, how many times did the terrier de-keg you?

Try telling that to the guy aiming at you with the SLR / G3 or even scoped 80 year old SMLE from 800 yards away when you have a "modern" AR to shoot back with :D.
