How many of you just can’t help but tinker, explore and rebuild your air rifles. Even tho theres nothing actually wrong with it before you start. I’ve done numerous what I see as upgrade, internal cleaning or polishing, reworked triggers ect.

Modern air rifles are a joy to dismantle 🤩 although frustrating at the same time.

I couldn't agree more, the what if stays in your mind until you do it, and sometimes it's better and sometime it's not. So long as you enjoy doing it thats all that matters.

I get no pleasure in taking guns apart and only do when necessary. I would rather be shooting them. But I can see that if you have a mechanical interest it could be fun.

I was doing this before I could even shoot properly. I just love knowing how things work.

Same with practicing guitar.... I'll practice once I build the perfect rig :ROFLMAO:

Not my affliction, luckily. I've mended too many other things to death to fancy screwing up a rifle that works perfectly well. I adapt to the rifle rather than trying to make it suit me better and making a muck of it.

Always enjoyed striping and cleaning my guns years ago, I've done a little bit on PCP guns that I've had but lucky enough to have been straight forward, Ive had lots of advice off the people on the forums over the years and if you have plenty of time and seek plenty of advice you can sometimes surprise yourself to what you can achieve. I do miss that part of it but short on time lately.

I enjoy tinkering to a certain degree, and probably stand at about 75%/25% in the success/disaster stakes over the years.
A few RFD's have undoubtedly had a nice exotic holiday at my expense i'm sure 😆 👍

I wonder how many would tinker if forums like this didn't exist with threads telling us about faults our guns don't have or upgrades we don't need?
Would have saved me a few quid! :ROFLMAO:

I love tinkering BUT
it is all too easy when stripping /rebuildig guns 5,6 or more times to get a specific setting to strip threads out of very small holes in aluminium parts as many of those things are designed to be put in just the once and left there,
and this is not just an issue with budget foriegn guns, it can happen with "Quality" brands too.
anyone else had this issue???

I would love to know more about how my guns work and how to fix them, unfortunately i tend to rotally screw things up when all the need was a simple tweak. Ive learned to leave well alone these days.

It would be awsome if someone offered a hands on workshop tutorial type thing

After finally getting to go shooting again last weekend, I discovered the HW100 was being inconsistent as was the Cricket. Most people would be unhappy, to me that’s just an invitation to test properly, strip, clean, upgrade and rebuild.
