Took the BSA Cadet Major down the range today and had a great time .
Didn't think I would get out shooting due to aches and Pains . However reading Crinkles post about shooting a cadet with his granddaughters I was inspired .

Light and simple so worth a go . Really nice metal work on this one and easy to shoot . Quite low power but no issue . Mostly shot targets at 6yards but then spinners and bells too.
Glad I made the effort, great fun .

that's in great condition compared to the one I have, think mine shoots around 6ftlbs still great fun shooting cans etc.

Beautiful rifle. Just seeing it takes me back, as I leaned to shoot with my dad's Cadet/Cadet Major hybrid. They're just perfect for what they are. I'll have to give it a service at some point.

Really special if you still have your dad's Cadet that you learnt to shoot with 😎👍

From a time when BSA made some nice quality air rifles. Think the cadets started in 1948,until the Meteor started and quality slowly declined from there!

I have one, a boot fair find. Just like the ones at the galleries in Margate's Dreamland fun park. A tin lid with 6 or a bakers dozen 177 pellets for 6d or 1/0. Those were the days!

That is one sleek and beautiful little rifle, and in lovely condition😍
