So looking on gunstar earlier. And at the bottom of the page was some buying advice.
For a PCP check it holds air. Ok
Now read the advice for gas rams and springers!

Why does your reply remind me of the bit in the blues brothers where the kid tries to steal the guitar off the wall in the music shop and Ray Charles shoots his pistol at the wall.

My advice for buying from Gunstar is don’t bother !
It’s full of tyre kickers, palm readers and scammers from far away places. Used to be half decent about 10 years ago and the odd gem pops up (collection only!) but the place terrible.

I can't stand AI crap. I mean there is no common sense anymore for the most part and you now have AI to make people even more stupid. The real worrying thing is people actually take what AI spits out as fact and don't bother to fact check it which i find really scary.

I feel like the AI drive is slowing down. We’ve realised what it can and can’t do.

I can tell copilot to build something new. With old code it just messes it up or decides to do 20 things extra I didn’t tell it to do.

It’s just speeding up the 80 but I still have to do the 20.

I do Jukibom so i know the pain firsthand. The AI boom is making hardware sourcing a nightmare. I was quoted £5k for a stick of ram for a server the other week. I actually replied asking has there been a mistake on the quote.
So glad I haven’t touched on prem stuff in over a decade. We’ll just keep building in “the cloud” until it all falls down.

that does not surprise me ... I paid £330 for 96GB of consumer grade DD5 last year. It's £1,670 now

I used their tools to build the spec which is meant to flag incompatible parts. They then came back and said oh sorry this part is incompatible and rejected the order. A lot of back and forward they said oh yes you are right the controller card is compatible here is your updated quote which was 70% more than the original quote. Needless to say i told them to honour the original price or do one.
