Just watched a nice video on the AGF YouTube channel by Keith on the new Theoben Rapid.

In the video he starts on a bench and then moves to sticks.

My question is do you keep teh gun the same when you switch between them, the butt position, cheek riser etc?

I only ask because depending on whether Im sitting behind, or to the side, when on a bench I often move the butt pad around.

I think when using sticks that you sort of just have to go with whatever position will get you on the target!
Not been using mine for long and I like them but definitely a bit different skills needed than shooting from a hide or a sat down resting position! Practice will be key , as with most things!

Using my HW100 I raise the PRS buttstock when shooting off sticks, but don't make any changes to my Steyr LG110. It depends on the exact configuration of the gun and scope. Just try it and do what is most comfortable.

The way around cheek and scope height with a shooting stick is buy an adjustable butt pad, i bought one recently for my Airmaks Krait. The top and bottom sections pivot to parrallel with the barrel, you only need the top adjuster really set it to sit ON TOP of your shoulder so your eye is always in line with the scope, it all slides vertically as well as back and forwards for the scope eye relief. I have the saber tactical version on my fx impact for the same reason.

Thanks chap. The adjustable butt I had on my Krait pro was a joy. I Prefferred it to the PRS one on the Alpha Wolf. No idea why, but I found it really easy to get comfy.

Also i don't rest the gun on the vee of the trigger sticks as such, I pad the vee with water pipe insulation foam tube and rest my front hand on the vee holding the gun, you can do lots of fine tweeks to your aim with this method!
