Recently picked this Mk.2 Meteor up for a very reasonable price for use as a 'plinker',its appeal was that it seems to be untouched and an honest vintage air rifle.
I particularly like the slimmer stock and metal sights which (to me!) are better looking than the later stocks and plastic sights,I don't have a chrono but it shoots OK and is accurate at short range despite a heavy trigger pull.

Enjoy! The Meteor is a much underated gun. I have a few and you can customise them quite a lot... you will have fun

It's funny how things go round,I was desperate to buy a Meteor having sold probably hundreds of them when I worked in the gun trade from '78 to '89,BSA were still a very popular make of air rifle then although latterly German guns had been making inroads,I remember them with great affection especially the ease of replacing seals and springs during overhauls.
Those were very happy days !!

Linesman,
I'm still looking out for original metal (as they are so rare to find!...why!?) foresight, rearsight and trigger assembly for bsa .22 meteor mk5. If you might know where to source, or possibly the whole rifle......possibly, thanks
