BSA lightning clx first impressions

These pins? If you take up the spring load could they be pulled out with a magnet .
I have thought of that but they look really snug although worth a shot for sure I also thought about gluing something too them with epoxy resin and trying to pull them out if I can find a way from the inside.

I'm thinking a backdraft reflex moddy, 1/3rd in front, 2/3rds behind the barrel end.

Like so. Shorter, quiet and pretty.

One thing that hasn't been said yet that I've noticed anyway?
Will this rifle push/twist the arm of aa to make the break barrel we want them to? Bit of 'friendly competition' for the brit pound?? I highly doubt it but it would be nice🤣

TBF more than a little bit of my CLX purchase was as a F you to Air Arms 🤣
If its accurate when scoped up and we find a way to easily strip it for tune up, then I would imagine it will sell very well indeed.

That’s my plan I’ve already realise the rear pin doesn’t effect me removing the trigger sears so it’s empty the trigger block and try work out how to get them out.

Watch this space bud as I will be back in for round 2 later on.
Check the trigger cage and se if it’s under tension maybe it has a tab or something that hold it all in. Damn British WORIED ABOUT SOMEONE FETTLING THEIR GUN. …. MORE 🍺 HELPS THINK CLEARLY 😆

Can't fault that 🤣 bsa have been clever here I feel, they have done what we want,a brit made springer, cashing in on a little bit of patriotism is a good idea at the moment 👍
I really hope this little rifle is tune-able to a good standard!!

A.A TAKE NOTE we want it,BSA have done it,now WHY WONT YOU?🤣🤣🤣

I talked to AA (Clair and another lass) at a gun show last year, I made the case for a new Pro Elite, citing BSA's continued sales and the success of the HW 30/99/95/98.

They were very firm, not gonna happen.

Likely we'll get a rebadged, high end Precihole if we get anything (did not sound likely as there was no "mass market" appeal).
And BSA will end up getting my money.

Hmmm I wonder if this bsa does well 'the lady IS for turning'🤣

The name just plain out reeks of 💩 . Sounds like pre Arse hole. Based on what I’ve researched they are poorly made
Might be a step up in quality to HATSAN ,BUT IGUARANTEE THEY WONT GET A QUATRO TRIGGER.
NOT SURE about you all over there ,but I can get them damn ne’er as good as a tuned REKORD.

It’s just the rest of the pot metal and weak screws that suck. Oh yeah. Billy club 500 gram pistons to

Already checked that last night bud it is holding the pressure of the spring guide and it has a slight pivot when moved corresponding with the tabs so it’s definitely them stopping me lol.

I can’t imagine they would press them in with no other way to remove than to drill them so I will have a good luck inside again later and report back and hopefully with pics of the piston removed!

One thing to note and something that makes no sense to me untill I get inside is the spring guide doesn’t all sit flush against the trigger block and seems to only have around a 10mm central bush as the contact point which allows the spring guide to can’t with little effort so that needs attention straight away I feel.

A mate of mine just showed me his new one, and i took a few shots through it this afternoon..

What a lovely looking rifle, stunning bit of walnut on his as well and i thought it was really good to shoot out of the box, smooth to cock and not a lot of twang..

Actually felt like the insides were finished pretty well, i bet it would be great with a minor fettle and to be honest i thought the trigger was fine.. certainly better out of the box than my last HW99 was..

Solid effort from BSA for a change (y)

Yes as I said I’m fussy and have had some pretty special shooting springers and have my triggers in the ounces so I’m a hard guy to please but they really have improved on the last ones but a fair margin mechanically and I think it’s the best looking break barrel you can buy at the moment by a country mile and handling could be the best too as the trigger reach and lop is perfect for me and the cheek piece is perfect for scope use.

No
The market doesn't need another break barrel Homer face palm

That's why BSA made one and will sell them by the thousand

AA will make what they want, whether we like it or not

Good to hear the scope / eye, alignment is good
The comb looked low, with that raised scope rail

Judging by my encounters with a few local RFDs they are flying out the door.

When I left to collect mine, there was 5 in.
By the time I got to the shop, 3!

Yesterday Redbeck sold out of their first shipment in an hour.

If those two are mirrored up and down the country, there will be hundreds sold already.

Was it a .22 or .177 out of interest?
