Brocock TAC pistol

These are unfortunately still cropping up, I had to inform someone at the weekend that the 5 he had for sale were sadly illegal and he could get a free holiday at HMPs pleasure in exchange.....
Not all Aircartridge guns are illegal though, Harper produced the Micro pistols and I have seen legal conversions on his Fox, Pocket and Pepperbox pistols that either have cartridges permanently fitted or don't use nosecones ( the later is very clever)

send it to Tinbum he will look after it that way at least you know it's not chopped up
Unfortunately I can't touch it. I'm section 1 & 2 only. It's on its was to another dealer who is a section 5. I'm not even allowed to have it in the armoury awaiting police collection even though its only a sub 6ft/lb air pistol.

Only 6 thousand or so SCGC airguns were handed in or registered in one report i read bur it was more than 10 years ago so the number may have changed but no by much.

I was offered an old by a workmate he had at his mothers and brought it in the next day . It was an ensign and I told him they were section 5 now and he did not know. I showed him the firearms act and he said it was getting chopped up and he did it in the workshop and into the scrap metal bins.
🤯 Isn't it just absolutely ridiculous.

I know a Met section 1 dealer who went to a meeting with other sec1 dealers, they were told by the chief constable if offered any SCGAC to take them in and then call the Police immediately, to insure these deadly weapons were removed from the streets....he did this with one and then they tried to prosecute him for unlawful possession.....he only did it once!

If Brocock had kept them .177 only or maybe .20 I dont think they would have been banned, as soon as they introduced the .22 I knew the writing was on the wall.
The writing came when they introduced the ME range and the prices dropped !
But yes i do agree if they had stayed. 177 then they would have been a lot harder to convert...

I think the influx of the cheap (crap) ME38 and its derivatives was probably the biggest single issue leading to the demise of these, as they retailed well under £100 whereas the quality guns started over £200.
Still gave no fit reason to start to convert them
