Has caught my eye, I'm looking for an after chrimbo pressie for myself and was thinking of giving a .22 a go on the scaley tails....problem I've noticed though that .22 doesn't sell as well these days on the 2nd hand market compared to .177,strange as back in the late 70's early 80's the fat boy calibre was flavour of the day and I myself shot hundreds of vermin with .22 back then so its a factor should I get a .22 and don't get on with it etc....however... the brk ghost has caught my eye as according to the sales blurb its easy to change calibres. So a Q or two to the brk owners out there...

1. Is it simple to change calibre from .177 to .22
2. Is the brk ghost really as good as most threads about the rifle would have us believe in terms of accuracy and reliability?

Now the cost of this rifle new is enough to increase my heart rate to dangerous levels not to mention the serious harm that could come my way when my little viper tongued wifey finds out I've spent silly money.....my only experience of buying a brand new pcp did not go well having spent around a grand on a new rapid mfr so once bitten twice shy comes into play as I don't want a repeat of shelling out silly money for another nightmare.
Thanks for reading.

Never used a Ghost, but i've held a few and they do feel very nice and ooze quality. In my experience, negative comments about the Ghost are very few and far between indeed, however there are always plenty of used ones about, but that's almost certainly because lots of people buy them rather than their being any particular issues with it.

I've watched quite a few videos showing the caliber change process and it looks dead easy and quick, but personally i think it would get old fast, and you'd just want a dedicated .22 and .177...

As far as I know, they're an Alpha/Delta Wolf without the electronics, which is a good pedigree. I assume they'll be the same or very similar in terms of construction, in which case, it's a single grub screw and the barrel comes out easily. Then it's just a probe & mag etc. You would probably have to tweak to the power up a touch moving from .22 to .177.

Not sure on cost, as it's a lot more expensive on my Alpha Wolf, as you have the electronics and built in chrono to think about

Cracking gun but once you start adding extras on it can get to £2000 in no time so if she finds out I don't think she will be best pleased would I buy it again knowing that? definitely

I had was in the same boat regarding .22 - had shot it for years and then I was in the market for an upgrade and saw the trend had moved to .177

Now I've made the move, it's brilliant and I prefer it.

My Ghost is a forever gun and, whilst I don't have a conversion kit, I did have access to one and it really is as easy as a few minutes work

Just got shot of my Maverick as it wasn’t getting used after acquiring my Ghost, they are rather special, love it😀👍

Yes the ghost is as accurate as everyone says, I use mine off Sticks for FTand it's superb (I'm not so much lol).

Apparently barrel change takes less than 10 minutes. There are loads of "how to" videos on the Brocock site for altering the ghost.

As above the barrel change is quick and easy but the kits ain't cheap they run about £400 for a barrel, pin and mag which takes you straight into two grand land if you buy it all new. However you will then have a very accurate well made gun with the full flexibility you want.

Too be a bit controversial I'd say my ghost is no more than my HW100 and for the same 2 grand you could have an HW100 in both calibers too. Its what floats your boat and we are v lucky to have all this choice

Yes I've looked up the cost of the extra barrel kit ....so I think that idea is out the window although I might still go for the ghost or maybe the sniper model.
Just need to go and look at one in the flesh which means tracking down a gunshop that has one in stock thats in reasonable driving distance.

I've had one for about a week! It's an awesome pcp rifle. Mines the carbine version and i find it very well balanced. Accuracy is top notch and it's pretty powerful to boot! Thankfully it's easy to tone down the power by adjusting the regulator down via a rotary wheel in the butt! So fasr it's very pellet friendly. Basically is the mechanical brother of the Delta and Alpha Wolf :)

I have a Ghost Plus and an Alpha Wolf. 4 out of 5 times shooting, I take the ghost .. alot less fuss no battery checking or charging needed a great hands-on gun. over 400 shots per bottle fill, pellet on pellet, no difference from the alpha regarding accuracy. I have the 177 but only target shoot so that was my preference. Ghost is a keeper and won't be sold.

Being the owner of a BRK Sniper XR I have been
tempted to buy a Ghost after having a go with someone’s up at the Range.

I know the Sniper is the lesser model of the two but it’s cheaper and an amazing rifle imo but I do really like the Ghost and as said above I am really tempted, my heart says yes but my wallet says no, so maybe just maybe I can prise my wallet open.

As regards buying one with the barrel adapter the fella who’s I tried had all that but he reckons he hardly uses it and prefers the 177.

Go treat yourself you know you want it.

I see RDS has invited you to try his and I will offer the same if you wish, mine the slightly longer version, also have a few others you can try if you wish, I-m junction 3 of the M3 and the kettle is always on

Hi Eddy, i have Ghost and to answer your questions..

1) it takes less than 5 mins to swap barrels and is extremely easy, really don't sweat it!

2) You will put pellet on pellet with no problems, the only limiting factor is the nut behind the trigger lol

Like a few have suggested if you get a chance to try one you wont be disappointed..
