Bog Death Grip Carbon Tripod

Anyone going to show us how you made your own sticks?
There you go, although once you master them you will be looking for ones that allow tracking as the DIY ones the rifle sits locked in them so if a bunny hops a foot or so you need to reposition the legs, my advice would be skip making them (the B&Q sticks will cost you £20) and buy some.

Lift one leg to track. The cane ones had some flexibility but the metal ones are better.

I fix the top joints with screws and the bottom ones with those bands they use to dock lamb’s tails and bits. It gives more flexibility if you need it. Always use two on each joint just in case one breaks after a long while.

After trying trigger sticks a few years ago, and now shooting with quad sticks, I'd doubt that any kind of tripod system will offer the combination of stability, portability and ease of use that you get with quad sticks.
If you're ambush shooting, then a tripod system would be ok, but any kind of walked up, standing shooting, I'd say quad sticks.

I currently own and use a Jim Shockey tripod for field shooting rabbits and foxes. I'm looking for something more sturdy and the ability to hold my 17HMR and 223 hands free.
I've got the same sticks but put a 3d printed saddle on mine which improved the stability no end and also allowed me to leave the rifle clamped while I scanned with the thermal. Just over £30 if I remember correctly.

I use the previous generation aluminium ones which I presume are a bit heavier. Not really designed for moving about but as other have said, from a static position they are fantastic. I use them sitting down but on occasions (when I don't want to get my arse wet or stung by nettles) I have used them standing to great effect.
