Not a great pic but there’s a black swan where we’re working on the river Clwyd!

Looks a bit like that old photo of Nessie.

To be fair, though, many of my own attempts at "Wildlife photos" are no better.

I seem to recall seeing a few of these black swans in one area, possibly somewhere North of Oxford?
Allegedly they had been imported for some stately home and then spread?

Great pic 😂 never seen one! Was too far for a great pic with I phone but nice to see 👌🏻

Their used to be one in Stratford on Avon, but it so aggressive with the other. Whites ,that they had to catch it. They took it away to a quiet stretch of the river miles away .

I used to drive the Kwinana Freeway on the way to work in Perth, WA

One morning the river below was crowded with black swans

That's when I realised that I was actually in Australia. That and all the Twenty Eights in the lemon trees....

Every year, a swan round

eld, on Lake Morton, in Lakeland, Florida. They check the general health and release them. Lucky bystanders may be able to hold a swan, and very special folks get to go out for a boat ride, to actually catch the swans. The white swans are descendants of a pair gifted by the late Queen. My daughter was the editor of the nearby college newspaper, so she got the chance to cover the event and go for the ride.

Lucky you. We love it down that neck of the woods (area!!). Holidayed down there quite a few times.
My dad was evacuated to Exmouth for a while and then on to Dawlish during the war so he wanted to come back and troll us around the area when we came here for our holidays in the early 70's. We holidayed here for about 7 years on the trott, eventually he said he'd like to retire here which he did in 1989, he and my mum moved here and had a good life. Oddly enough, my mum was evacuated to Exmouth around the same time as my dad but never crossed path's.
