Bestist Holiday Places You Go To, Or have Been To

Too many to list, but the top three would be Nepal, Alaska and Australia

We try and go somewhere nice once a year, twice if we can, we went to paphos in Cyprus last June which was nice, stayed at the olympic lagoon. October just gone went to Rhodes in Greece which again we loved, took my dad along with us to say thank you for everything he has done for us over the years and to celebrate his 70th birthday- stayed at the atlantica aegean blue resort

Have tenerife booked for this June staying at the royal hideaway corales suites, and dalaman, turkey for October staying at Jiva resort

We really like the Greek Islands, would love to go away more but costs a fortune with 3 kids

Mexico Cancun, great food lovely people stunning scenery and it feels like you are actually far away from home

My lovely old friend had a holiday home in Brittany on a hill above Lac Guerledan and just outside Caurel - wonderful, happy times.
She was known as "Madame de Kerr Maltaire" - the name of her farm house.
Several of the old boys in the town welcomed me as an honorary "Brother" due to the ancient connections between Brittany and "Pays de Galles."
We went there together for quite a few years - usually my work meant that I went one way by train but we took the overnight Ferry to Le Havre as often as possible.
Carefree holidays, lots of fresh French Bread, cheese and wine - just such a lovely gentle pace of life.
Sadly, she died and her kids sold the house after there was a fire.

France generally is lovely but I am not very keen on Paris, personally.
Marseilles and Provence in general are beautiful.

The former Yugoslavia has its charms - away from the tourist spots for me, please - often like stepping back 50 years in Serbian villages etc.

I would love to go back to Cuba but it must have changed a lot in the last 20 plus years.

The trouble with holidays is airports and air travel - just not my idea of fun.

Done most of Europe, the Med and North Africa. TBH I quite like staying in the UK nowadays as theres still loads to see and do here.
UK fave spots include Dorset and North Devon, and I quite like the NE too, now that I've explored Yorkshire and Northumberland a little bit. Would like to see more of Ireland too. (y);)
I have always wanted to go to the US, New Zealand and Australia, but the distance puts me off now I'm older.....but maybe one day....

Yes, the ferry is expensive now but you don't have to travel far once you get there. Northern Spain is beautiful, the Galician coast and the Picos de Europa are stunning. (y)
Stop it, I'm easily swayed, and there's the post brexit rules to consider. 90 days in 180, and we spend a lot of time at our place in Normandy with family. I know its excuses, if I could find somewhere to stay, thats comfortable for a cripple and a miserable old git:), I'd consider it, really.
