Best Whisky’s

After a certain amount of experimentation I've settled on a selection of Glen Moray and enjoy the older ones and the cask strength offerings. Most Speyside whiskys are good but you can keep the smoky stuff.

I'm not a big fan of whisky but I would like to try one that doesn't give you heart burn.

In no particular order...
Japanese from Sainsbury's. They have two, both very nice.
Shetland Reel which seems to be a bit rarer than hens' teeth.
Got this one from Aldi the other week which slips very nicely. Will need to get some more

Do like a very occasional glass, but I am not a big drinker, as I learnt when I was younger that I don't really get on with alcohol, eg: I get terrible hangovers, etc!
Went to Edinburgh many years ago, and visited one of the famous Whisky shops and treated myself to a nice 15yr old Glenfiddich. Its still not empty!!!! :ROFLMAO:

😢 I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ what a hangover 🤕 is

My general favourites are Old Pulteney and (my absolute, all time favourite) Jura Superstition although have recently tried a Welsh one, Penderyn, and found it rather nice. 🥃 😋

Talisker
Laphroaig cask strength (Cairdeas)
Aberlour Ah-bunadd

When I'm short of cash it's Aldi Glen Marnoch Islay or Black Bottle

Just enjoy them all (I know I live near Speyside but West coast peat monsters are my thing 😄😄)

@Inca has some expensive whiskies and @Cammie1314 is working on developing a taste for Laphroaig (actually he thinks it comes from the devil's septic tank)🤣🤣

Cardhu gold, hadn't heard of it until last year, tried it and it's now my go to (when it's on offer). I buy the odd interesting bottle at auction, some of the earlier versions of fairly bog standard stuff are really good, just have to beware of crumbled corks.
Cardhu had never been my favourite until I was given some to accompany some haggis one Burns night. For me, this is when this malt really comes into its own.

As 1-square-foot proprietor of Laphroaig I feel obligated to say Laphroaig 😂 but in all honesty, any Whisky from Islay is at the top!
It's not just the peaty ones and any real whisky amateur should visit the island at least once!😉
If I'm cooking, I use Knockando, and offer it to those who don't have a taste for peaty.
Talisker, also.
Cardhu I advise for the younger discoverers.

I've also been gifted beverages from the whiskey and bourbon kinds, even some reputed ones from Japan, but I'll admit that when it comes to whisky, I'm a bit of a snob 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 : it has to come from Scotland.
Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Port Ellen, Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore, Bunnahabhain,... to name a few

Haven't touched a dram for a good while now (purely through choice) but my favourite weapons of choice were/are Aberlour & The Singleton, tasted so many over the years that i couldn't name them all.
