I wouldn’t worry about the springs, mine is years old and has originals with no issues. The springs do look fragile but are only there to push the lock bar forward, compare them to a Parker style pen ball point pen, have you ever seen these springs break? I know coils vs … but all the same.
I’ve Personally never seen an omega spring break in real-time although there are documented cases of this happening.
I’m a fan of keeping things mechanically simple, so compared to a single solid bar of spring steel as typically found in back locks / compression locks instead of two extremely thin oddly shaped springs which the omega lock has, it loses out.
If you love to fidget with knives then I can see a benefit to the omega lock, otherwise it’s a bit superfluous.
