As some of you may know I bought a pre owned Weihrauch HW77 from a ‘friend’.
With the weather not being the best I never got out to use it. Seeing as it’s now getting warmer and brighter I thought I’d chrono my rifles. The 77 was only putting out 7-8 ftlb so today I decided to strip it and re grease it. Got it opened up and bloody snapped spring! Snapped off part missing so either he or someone else knew about this and said nothing. £240 for a rifle I now have to find the money for a new spring. As I’m on benefits it could take a very long time. I just hope the inside of the piston hasn’t been eaten away from the sharp end of the spring. Not happy at all to be honest. From a so called ‘friend’ too.

Thanks pal, very very generous of you and I really appreciate it but I’ve no idea if he’s on here or not. I’ve messaged him on Facebook messenger, hoping for a reply.

Was it break or has it been cut and not finished ?

Hull cartridge used to send some airguns out like that believe it or not . They cropped the springs and never dressed them .

This was removed from a brand new HW97 .

I bought an hw30 that hade been sent back to HC, about two years ago by the rfd for a new spring, that is exactly what they did.
I rectified it myself.
