Beeman p17

Excellent accuracy and value for money. Think of it as a budget, but not that budget HW40. They are usually a little more powerful than the HW40, but as @TimD81 says, not more than 3 ft lbs. Mine, with H&N Econ ii returns circa 3 to 3.3 ft lbs peak.

Mine was great for a day or two and then the valve seal failed.
When I changed it I was suprised it ever sealed at all looking at the state of the original seal..

Bought it to replace my Nemesis SSP as the grips are too blocky but the accuracy isn't a patch on the Nemesis.
I may be looking at the HW40 in the future as I love the grips
Apparently if this happens when replacing the seal it’s worth making sure you de bur the air hole in the cylinder as these can have rough edges where they have been drilled but not cleaned up after. I bought one off eBay that had been taken to bits and lost a couple of bits, I did have to clean up all the drilled holes and the valve stem had been bent, probably by not being assembled correctly then forced, anyway, straightened, cleaned and sorted, re assembled. As it was cheap I am going to try drilling the hole in the front of the piston in front of the transfer port, this is meant to reduce cocking pressure without effecting the velocity, probably the air transfer is limited by the valve system so compressing less air, we’ll see but it has been done before, just can’t remember where, about 6mm x 6mm.

I’ve had one for ages apart from seals going after a few years of having it it’s been really good seals are easy to replace and there’s videos on YouTube it was actually the first gun I’d changed seals on

I sold mine for aesthetic reasons
Really? That's the reason I BOUGHT one! Really think it's one of the best, if not the best looking air pistols out there! Wild fantasy I know, but if they made a longslide version like this, it would be perfect!

so, the pistol has been around a long time i say this because when they first came out most of the failed and that failure was cause by the burr left in the cylinder after drilling the air hole
well, that problem disappeared over time
we in the states have had several threads about how hard they are to cock and i have one of those so i never use the pistol it sat in it's case as a bad pistol
so the fact is these can be very hard to cock and the HW 40 much easer
there is a mod that you drill a shallow hole in the piston head and that will make it easier to cock and i did that and it was to a point
i run 7gr in all my pistols
you can run HW 40 .22 caliber barrel for fun Knibbs has them or did
i suggest getting a deer skin lefthand glove when shooting and you can thank me latter
