Question's not quite what yer thinking.
I'm soon gonna buy a TX200 Rifle Ultimate Springer.
I'm going for laminate but what would you get for strictly functionality, I don't care if it's pig ugly or drop dead gorgeous?
Strange that the Walnut's heavier than the Black Beech, thought Beech was heavier, does that tell you anything?

For me you can't beat nice oiled walnut, couldn't describe why, just feels better for me, laminate is good and hard wearing, beech just feels like a cheaper walnut, purely snobbery mind haha always tend to find I'm more careful with walnut stocked rifles too!

Just my view, but synthetic is lighter, but not nice to use or shoot, laminate is heavier, more expensive, and damages easier, beech is a mid ground, cheaper, easy to shoot, but not that pretty, and walnut is more expensive, a harder wearing wood, "can" be better looking, but not always, and loved by traditionalists.

So I don't own a single synthetic gun, a couple of beech, and loads of laminates because I'm a tart and have to live with the gun I'm shooting ;)

I am not a fan of oiling anything. Inexpensive ASDA beeswax in a spray can for me. Walnut may look better with the grain, beech can look a little ordinary, and laminate is just a posh word for plywood. On my current rifles I have, walnut, teak, and beech . Beech for functionality
ASDA beeswax, interesting, wonder if any good for boots?

@Steve636 .The ASDA beeswax is highly recommended for wood treatment, not containing any non essential products like silicone. Beeswax is also highly recommended for boots and shoes, "Offering waterproofing, conditioning and protection while also enhancing the natural lustre of leather". To quote from the tin.

Given a choice I'd get the walnut. Air Arms stocks are stunning things generally so I wouldn't want anything other than that from them personally.

Walnut over laminate all day long. The grain on mine is superb. Zoom in.

Laminate looks nice too though. Just got to watch out for knocking it. 👍
